Even though there are several cartoons and animated series that enjoy similar popularity, what makes the adventures of Scooby-Doo and his friends is the countless crossovers they have had. From The Dark Knight to the Justice League and even Jensen Ackles’s Supernatural, the characters have had many memorable crossovers. But perhaps the best one was when they collaborated with WWE starring John Cena for an epic WrestleMania mystery.

In the crossover, titled Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery (a direct-to-DVD animated movie) the gang is on their way to WrestleMania after they win an expensive tour and stay at the WWE City. As is the norm, they end up encountering a mysterious ghost bear who is causing chaos in the event and threatening to ruin the upcoming WrestleMania event.

As they try to unravel the mystery after being asked by Mr. McMahon himself, they team up with WWE Superstars including John Cena, AJ Lee, Triple H, and The Miz, who all lend their voices to their animated counterparts. However, it was Cena’s character who stole the show, not just for his heroic actions but also for his comical interactions with the gang.

At one point the Peacemaker star even got to perform his signature Attitude Adjustment move on the ghost bear, which certainly was a highlight of the whole movie. The collaboration between Scooby-Doo and WWE turned out to be a huge success for fans of both franchises. A sequel, Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon later followed the first movie.

Scooby-Doo has turned out to be the king of crossovers in the last few decades. Owned by Warner Bros., the media franchise features the four teenagers— Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, and Shaggy Rogers as well as their talking Great Dane Scooby-Doo. Over the years, the Scooby Gang has teamed up with other animated cartoons like Courage the Cowardly Dog, Teen Titans, and Johnny Bravo.

Apart from these, the gang once also encountered Mark Hamill, Wonder Woman, and even the Addams Family back in the 90s. If these weren’t iconic enough, the gang teamed up with fellow mystery solvers and ghost hunters, The Winchesters, during an episode of Supernatural, featuring Jensen Ackles‘ Dean Winchester trying to woo Daphne.

And so, if one is wondering why Scooby-Doo’s popularity hasn’t faded away with time, it is all thanks to the epic crossovers it has had with other characters that continue to keep it part of the popular culture. With so many already iconic crossovers, one can only imagine what other adventures the Scooby Gang will have in the future!
