As the name suggests, a new DC character is rumored to make his way onto the big screens called The Star-Spangled Kid. This rumor was shared by a person on X, however, there is still speculation around.
Taking to their social media accounts, a fan shared a photo of a wall with John Cena’s Peacemaker. Alongside Cena, is his on-screen father White Dragon, and a mysterious third character.
Fans have one particular theory about who this mysterious character is. The answer might just be the Star-Spangled Kid.
This speculation isn’t without proof, however, as there are two major points that support it. From the brilliant mind of James Gunn, the appearance of the Star-Spangled Kid makes perfect sense.
But who is this kid? And why does he look like the child of Spider-Man and Captain America? It all goes back to Marvel Comics and the events of World War II.

Well, not HIS kid but you get the point. If James Gunn would pick The Star-Spangled Kid for the big screens, it would fit quite perfectly with the show because of two major reasons.
The first reason is James Gunn’s love for obscure superheroes. Gunn has an affinity for picking up quirky heroes like Polka Dot Man and King Shark. The Star-Spangled Kid is one of these obscure superheroes who is kind of great, but not mainstream either.
The second reason is that the character would fit perfectly with the tone of the show. The Star-Spangled Kid was created by Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel. Being a kid, he adopted an identity and fought Nazism during World War II (sounds a bit similar, right?)
John Cena’s Peacemaker is a character that will go to any extent for peace. On the same hand, the Star-Spangled Kid works in almost the same direction and his uniqueness is that he is just a kid with powers.
So, it could be a possibility that James Gunn might just adopt The Star-Spangled Kid for the big screen. James Gunn’s Peacemaker received a rating of 8.3/10 on IMDB and a whopping 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
As of now, a release date for Peacemaker Season 2 hasn’t been revealed yet. The first season of the iconic show is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
