John Lennon, former member of The Beatles, made a great impact on the music industry, and his death left a tremendous shock to the world. He was assassinated in front of his Dakota house in December 1980 by Mark David Chapman, who claimed to be a fan but resented the music icon.
Even though he has been gone for decades, many fans still look up to him, and the sound of his band’s music continues to inspire and entertain modern fans. People closest to Lennon have also claimed they had strange encounters with the late musician where they strongly felt his presence.
John Lennon’s Spirit Communicated With His Friends And Family
In a video collection of celebrity ghost sightings by WatchMojo, the spirit of musician John Lennon seems to have been lurking around his close friends after he died. The clip stated:
“Not only has his ghost been allegedly sighted around the apartment where he died, but also those closest to him in life have several times said that they thought that he was around and watching over them. According to Paul McCartney, while the remaining band members were recording Free as a Bird in 1995, strange things kept happening, and they all felt he was near.”
This was expounded in a post from Exemplore where the “strange” thing happened during their photoshoot session. The outlet wrote:
“Throughout the recording, the three men felt the presence of John, even claiming to hear his name as the song faded out. It was the photoshoot afterward that brought the real surprise, though. During his lifetime, John promised to send his loved ones a white feather as a sign when he passed away. As the photographer snapped the group, a rare white peacock wandered into the shot to the amusement of the three bandmates.”
Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono, also experienced seeing the ghost of her late husband:
“Yoko Ono also witnessed the ghostly image of her husband in the apartment they once shared. Seated at his grand piano, he turned to his wife and comforted her with the words, ‘Don’t be afraid I am still with you.’”
Lennon’s ghost is still felt in the Dakota apartment where he was killed, and even in the places he frequented. His closest friends and family have claimed they all still feel he’s hanging around, comforted by the idea that his spirit lives on.
John Lennon Has Been Warned About His Death
As spooky as those tales from John Lennon’s family and friends, a psychic warning about his untimely death was way more terrifying. According to his first wife Cynthia, the music icon received a letter pertaining to his murder. Exemplore noted that Lennon has been warned numerous times:
“It is rumored that during one seance, the spirit of his manager Brian Epstein warned him that he would be shot and to take care. In 1969, while holidaying in Greece, Lennon was warned that he would be killed on an island.”
Lennon thought the astrologer was referring to a Greek island so he returned home. Years later, Ono realized it was the island of Manhattan all along.
