So, the deliberations would continue on Wednesday. In the closing arguments, both sides have said that winning this case would give them their life and career back. Johnny Depp has sued his ex-wife over an op-ed she wrote in the Wahington Post. The actor claims that the accusations against him are false and have destroyed his life. Now, as the actor’s fans are protesting against Amber Heard, she is losing roles too. Even a petition to remove her from the Aquaman sequel was signed by millions.

The closing argument controversy during the trial

Johnny Depp’s lawyer asked Judge Penny Azcarate to ignore a portion of Amber Heard’s lawyer’s closing statement. In his closing statement, Rottenborn said, “No matter how honest you are about your own imperfections and your own shortcomings in a relationship, you have to be perfect in order for people to believe you. Don’t send that message.”

In the written motion, it was suggested that it hints at a social cause and not what the case really seeks to decide. The actor’s lawyer said, “Such argument by Ms. Heard’s counsel improperly invites the jury to decide the case ‘based on passion and prejudice’ and a specific jury instruction is necessary to cure this impropriety.”

The judge told Depp’s lawyer that the motion cannot be entertained by her as the case is in the jury’s hands now. The world awaits what the jury would decide now.
