While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been a controversial release in the eyes of many, the game’s creative approach has undoubtedly been one that’s in inclination with DC’s massive universe. This holds true for everyone who has put their hearts and souls into a role.
In an interview with him, the FandomWire team learned how Karliak’s performance has been resilient and focused, despite all the negative reviews. He plays the role of the Joker, bringing to life a personality that’s been familiar to fans for ages yet feels as fresh as concept art from the sketchbook of a comic book artist.
Despite the Game’s Negative Reviews, JP Karliak’s Performance Stays Unaffected
One may think that only the titles that bathe in fame and success are the ones that celebrate an actor’s performance. Well, that simply isn’t true. At least in the case of JP Karliak.
In FandomWire’s interview with him, we learned something fantastic. When asked about how the negative feedback affected JP Karliak’s performance as an actor, he had this to say:
It certainly didn’t affect my original performance, and it definitely won’t affect it going forward either. Primarily because there is already an established version in the can that I did and I can’t start tweaking it now. It is of course validating when people connect with a character that you portray, or the game in general, you always like to see that.
It’s the mark of a great artist to separate their art from criticism, and it goes on to show that the actor’s performance is something that will stand the test of time. He even pointed out how not everything is for everyone.
I also don’t take any of the criticism to heart because at the end of the day, you can’t please everybody. The reason that there are so many individually beloved versions of the Joker is because everyone has their own taste for what they like.
Here’s to hoping that we keep witnessing such a positive attitude from more artists in the industry.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Isn’t for Everyone, and That’s Okay
As unforgiving as it may seem to now view the game in a positive light, there’s always a player base that will enjoy it, regardless of whether it is perceived as a success by the majority of the community.
Even with its questionable gameplay loops and shorter-than-expected narrative, the game has much to offer in terms of content updates.
The Joker will finally arrive in the game on March 28 (during Season 1), and players will get to experience JP Karliak’s astonishing performance.
