Jon Bernthal is most prominently known for his role as Frank Castle in The Punisher and Daredevil. Fans have been wishing for his return to the role and have since started speculating about his involvement in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again. There had been rumors about him being a part of it, however, due to scheduling conflicts, that had soon been accepted to not be happening.

These speculations have surprisingly spiked seeing that Bernthal’s series American Gigolo has been canceled just as the filming for the Daredevil reboot is about to begin. The Punisher got canceled after only two seasons and was not allowed to be explored further. Although now there may be a possibility of the characters storyline to develop further.

Jon Bernthal Might Be Joining The Cast Of Daredevil: Born Again

Jon Bernthal’s series American Gigolo has officially been canceled after only one season. It seems rather convenient seeing that the filming for Daredevil: Born Again is ought to begin soon. Earlier it was stated that the actor would not be making an appearance in the show due to scheduling conflicts and him being too busy to be able to make time for any other project. However, now it may seem as if the show has gotten out of Bernthal’s way.

It has allowed the actor to appear in the upcoming series and reconnect with his much-loved character. Frank Castle had been a big part of Daredevil as well as Matt Murdock’s story. He had his own series which gave the character more growth and depth. It incidentally managed to create a massive fanbase and everyone loved the character, including Bernthal himself. Seeing that there is a possibility for him to appear in the series as the beloved character, it could not be long before fans see Frank Castle as the Punisher once again.

Jon Bernthal Expresses His Love For The Punisher And Frank Castle

Bernthal explained how he is unsure of the future that his character and the show might have, regardless of how much the fans want to see a third season of the show. He expressed how much he loved working as Frank Castle and how the character became a part of him.

“So it’s not about whether we do it, it’s about getting it right, and doing the version that the fans really deserve. We’ll see. I mean, all of those decisions are made in rooms I am not invited into… But Frank’s always there, he’s always a part of me. And when we get the call to go, I’ll be ready, and I’ll make sure that I do everything I can to make sure that we do it right, or we won’t do it at all.”

To him, Frank was a great part of his life that he won’t ever forget even if he does not get a chance to play as him again. The actor learned to grow with the character and has him in his heart. His adoration for the character is enough to keep him eternally living in himself.

Daredevil: Born Again will release on Disney+ in the Spring of 2024.
