Josh Brolin is an incredibly well-established and popular actor in the industry. The American actor first rose to fame back in 1985 for his role in the movie, The Goonies. Brolin has won multiple awards and even received a nomination for an Academy Award for playing the role of Dan White in the movie, Milk back in 2008. Brolin once claimed in an interview that he did not like doing superhero movies, however, his biggest role in the industry so far was his portrayal of Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to sources, Josh Brolin was once even offered the role in the movie, Terminator Salvation but he allegedly turned it down because he felt the movie was ‘too dark.’

Josh Brolin turned down a major role in Terminator Salvation

Josh Brolin once revealed in an interview that he was offered a major role in the fourth installment of the series, Terminator but he decided to turn it down. He said,

It’s like I’ve been offered these kind of superhero movies or Terminator or whatever those movies are and I just go ahh. If it really resonates, and Terminator when I read it, I thought was really dark and cool and interesting, but then I knew they could go this way with it or that way.

According to sources, Brolin was allegedly offered the role of Marcus Wright in Terminator Salvation but it eventually went to Sam Worthington after the Deadpool 2 actor turned it down.

The No Country for Old Men actor thought that the initial script of the movie was ‘too dark

Christian Bale was the first actor who was cast for Terminator Salvation and he went on to play the lead role of John Connor in the movie. In another interview, Josh Brolin revealed that he talked to Bale after the release of the movie and realized that the script of the movie had changed from when he was offered the role of Marcus Wright. He said,

“Yeah. I talked to Christian [Bale] for a couple hours. I really liked the script though I hear that’s not what they filmed. The one I read was very interesting and dark. Ultimately though I didn’t think it felt right.”

Terminator Salvation was the one and only movie of the franchise without Arnold Schwarzenegger in it and it received mixed reviews from both fans and critics from all around the world.
