Zenin Clan belongs to one of the three big sorcerer families in the series,along with Kamo and Gojo clans. The clan is notorious for its utter disregard for its family’s weakness. Its demand for obedience and strict rules led to Maki and Toji disowning the clan entirely. On top of that, the clan’s priority of power over its members led to its demise.
Toji’s hatred for the clan is clear when he changes his surname and raises Megumi away from the clan. Maki’s hatred for the clan stems from Mai’s sacrifice.
