The series had its fair share of shocking and terrifying deaths. And while some of the deaths paved the way for developing character arcs, others were deemed unnecessary. Some were well deserved while others triggered a sense of disbelief among fans.

Furthermore, the author’s idolization of the antagonist has become a pressing issue among several fans. This has further led to many fans commenting on how badly written some characters are. On top of that, Gojo’s character ending also raised several questions about how the villain’s ending should be written.

Gege Akutami’s idolization of Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen

Throughout the series, Gege Akutami establishes Ryomen Sukuna as a symbol of immeasurable strength to the point that there’s no possible yardstick to define his true power. Furthermore, the author’s idolization of this antagonist has led many fans to call them out for this bias.

However, the author’s idolization of the antagonist isn’t the only thing that upsets and irks the fans. The latter’s attitude towards humans and opponents triggers further hate towards him. Especially how he looks down on people and sorcerers as lesser beings makes us wish for a satisfying end to this sadism.

And while Gojo and Sukuna have their strength as a similarity, both characters differ in their moral compass. While the former strives to use his power to train others, the latter uses it out of hedonistic pleasure. The antagonist, therefore, is anything but god-like as he is depicted.

Gojo’s dishonorable ending in Jujutsu Kaisen

Satoru’s ending in Jujutsu Kaisen as a popular character triggered a sense of disbelief among fans. He was killed off by the antagonist in the battle among the strongest in Shinjuku. What made his ending dishonorable is the intensity of graphic violence used to depict his body.

On top of that, his ending as a popular and celebrated character was unexpected and dishonorable. He contributed to the major arcs of the story and established himself as a strong character.

However, the ending also shattered the illusion of him being a strong character and furthered the plot for the antagonist as an uncontested King of Curses.
