Since the beginning of the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Gege Akutami has been known to be ruthless against the characters they have created, often containing big shocks and surprises for the audience.
There are many examples of this happening in the series, including times when the death of major characters took place in the franchise, with no hopes of them ever returning. However, it seems that fans might have already figured out what Akutami might be planning to pull off for the series finale.

Fans Speculate Death Of A Major Character For The Finale Of Jujutsu Kaisen
It has been decided ever since the start of the franchise that Yuji Itadori will face the fate of death in the end after he has consumed all the fingers of Sakuna, eliminating the threat of the king of the curses once and for all.
However, fans have started speculating that Akutami might be planning to replace the death of Yuji Itadori with another major character, that being Megumi Fushigiro. This character has been there ever since the first episode of the series and has always remained by the side of Itadori as a friend.

Reasons Fans Believe Megumi Fushigaro Will Be Facing His Unfortunate End In The Finale
There are many reasons that could have led fans to believe that such a major fan favourite character would be chosen to be killed off, one of them being how he has always stuck to Itadori’s side as he feels he is responsible for Itadori becoming the vessel for Sakuna in the first place.
Another factor that comes into play is how Sakuna has always wanted to see Fushigaro reach his full potential, something that the king of curses has been waiting for ever since the two met for the first time. Since then, it has been mentioned a few times how Fushigaro is still not reaching his full potential, and a face off between Sakuna and Fushigaro is very much possible after he is finally able to bypass his limits.
However, something which concerns the fans is the fact that even Fushigaro giving him all would most probably not be able to defeat Sukuna, especially if the King of Curses is able to gain the power of all his 20 fingers, eliminating any chance of Fushigaro defeating him.
