In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Divine General Mahoraga is one of the strongest Shikigami. Mahoraga’s appearance in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 was hinted at last week, and it makes its anime debut in Episode 17 as Megumi summons him to fight against Haruta.

Megumi Summons Mahoraga

After fighting Toji, Megumi was suddenly attacked by Haruta from behind. To defeat Haruta Megumi reaches for his last option. He chooses to call forth the one that has never before been tamed by a Ten Shadows Technique user.

As the most formidable shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique, Megumi calls forth the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga. Megumi gets severely injured when Mahoraga pushes him out of the way and into a building. Sukuna arrives on the scene to save Haruta before Mahoraga has a chance to attack.

After using the Reverse Cursed Technique to heal him, he reveals that he still has intentions for Megumi. Sukuna sets his sights on defeating Mahoraga to free Megumi from the technique and save his life.

How Did Sukuna Defeat Mahoraga?

Mahoraga’s power is well known for having beaten the head of the Gojo family, who possessed superhuman skills like Limitless and Six Eyes. Still, he was no match for Sukuna. Mahoraga had already become accustomed to Sukuna’s Dismantle technique due to his constant slash attacks on the beast.

In the middle of the fight, Sukuna realizes that the only way to defeat Mahoraga is to destroy it with a new tactic before it has a chance to adjust. According to him, the shikigami has adapted to slashing techniques in general as well as to dismantle them. Sukuna unleashed the power of his Domain, Malevolent Shrine, and altered it to reduce the city to dust.

While seriously hurting the beast, Mahoraga was occupied adjusting to Sukuna’s slashing techniques. As a last blow, Sukuna unleashed his fire powers, a move Mahoraga was unaware of, and destroyed it with a powerful strike before it could adjust.
