The latest chapter seemed to take up both the aspects of introducing something new and closing something old at the same time. Not everyone would make it to the end and thus their fights can stretch for only so long.

The tides are turning as the battle progresses with Sukuna’s own state growing more and more weak. While he struggles to take on so many opponents at the same time, the others have their own tricks up their sleeves. The latest and most rightfully of the lot happens to be none other than the protagonist, Itadori Yuji.

Jujutsu Kaisen is Giving Yuji Itadori His Moment to Shine

Chapter 263 of Jujutsu Kaisen puts aside the fight between Yuta and Sukuna, making way for Todo and Itadori to step in once again. As Todo uses the last of his might to battle against the King of Curses, Itadori Yuji has his own priorities straight. He had showcased previously that his own affinity with Sukuna’s Cursed Technique, Cleave and Dismantle.

While it came as a surprise when he first used it, now seeing the technique in action once again has its own glory. This comes specifically because of the way he utilized the technique that had previously caused so much destruction. Sukuna and Itadori have always been two sides of the same coin. Their actions oppose each other and so do their goals.

One is a man who was alone for as long as his memory unfolds and the other has a group of people who always have his back no matter what. However, one of those people also happens to be under the clutches of Sukuna. As a result, Itadori uses Dismantle in a way that no fan could have seen coming, cracking the barrier between Megumi and the King of Curses.

Itadori Had Always Been One for the Soul

It had been speculated for the longest time that Itadori Yuji’s Cursed Technique would have something to do with the soul. His connection with Mahito was one of the biggest indicators of this as well. Now with a binding vow, he has once again chosen to twist Dismantle, this time taking the soul as his target.

Itadori can directly target the barrier between the two souls, possibly even making it possible for Megumi to regain control of his body. This means that the damage he can cause is not just visibly shown. It could crush the soul itself, similar to how Mahito could manipulate its shape.

Sukuna may be the King of Curses but the boy he so openly called a ‘brat’ has now outperformed his own Cursed Technique. The room for his own growth has only skyrocketed and so is the possibility of how powerful he can really become.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read on Viz Media.
