After Satoru Gojo’s demise at the hands of Ryomen Sukuna, another major character takes the blow in Jujutsu Kaisen. Kenjaku, or pseudo-Suguru Geto, commonly known as the most evil sorcerer in Jujutsu history, was killed by Satoru Gojo prodigy Yuta Okkotsu. Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 243 ended with Yuta Okkotsu slicing down Kenjaku from behind.
Gege Akutami likes to play with the emotions of their fans. Even though Kenjaku was one of the most hated characters, his sudden demise has left the fans wanting more. Among such a massive development, the fans have overlooked an important aspect. Kenjaku suffered the same fate as a Satoru Gojo in the same manner. It proves that both of them have more same qualities than the fans can see, which might be unexpected for the fandom.
Kenjaku and Satoru Gojo Had More Similarities than One Can Imagine
The Jujutsu Kaisen fandom is in a state of shock after Kenjaku’s sudden death. Even though Satoru Gojo is dead, there is an ongoing speculation that he might soon be revived. It gave the fans the hope of seeing the two take on each other, but now it won’t be possible. But even in death, Kenjaku has made the fans realize something much worse than Satoru Gojo vs. Kenjaku. That is, both of them have uncanny similarities.

The first thing that comes to find is that both of them despised the Jujutsu Society. Gojo stayed within the system, while Kenjaku managed things from outside. They are overconfident, which makes them pay the ultimate price. During Gojo vs. Sukuna, the former was enjoying himself while fighting against Mahoraga. He was so engrossed in the fight that he completely forgot about Sukuna. It helped Sukuna beat Gojo with just a little tweak in his plan.
On the other hand, the same thing happened when Kenjaku was facing Fumihiko Takaba. Takaba’s special technique allowed him to do anything if he was confident, and his comic skills were elevated. Kenjaku understood it and countered him with comedy. Seeing someone better than him in comedy made Takaba lose confidence. Like Gojo, Kenjaku became so engrossed in Takaba’s fantasy and faced him in a stand-up comedy face-off that he could no sense Yuta Okkotsu behind him, who slashed him leading to his demise.
Even though both of them died, Kenjaku’s last words were true to their core and gave out Gojo vibes. He said that even though he will die, his teachings and preaching will continue through his students and associates, who will continue to live on.
More on Jujutsu Kaisen
The Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 243 ended with Kenjaku’s demise. For the last few chapters, the focus shifted from Ryomen Sukuna to Kenjaku since he was on a quest to hunt down the rest of the Jujutsu sorcerers. The motive to start the Culling Games had been fulfilled, and now he wanted to eliminate the extra players. Due to the new rules added to the game, it was easy to find other Jujutsu sorcerers based on their cursed energy.
Chapter 244 is most likely to feature Yuji Itadori and Hiromi Higuruma taking on the King of Curses. Gege Akutami’s magnum opus is slowly reaching its climax, and the fandom could not get more excited. It is agonizingly beautiful how the strongest sorcerer and the most evil sorcerer have so many similarities. Jujutsu Kaisen is on its way to becoming one of the greatest anime of all time.
Jujutsu Kaisen is available on Crunchyroll and Netflix for streaming. The manga is available on Viz Media and Manga Plus.
