But for most of the series, Yuji covered the vast gap, thanks to being the vessel of Sukuna. Yuji is no longer a vessel for the King of Curse, but he has seemingly received a new power. The speculation received a resounding acceptance from the fandom following Yuji Itadori’s new look.
Yuji Itadori’s New Look Hints at New Cursed Technique
Ahead of the release of Jujutsu Kaisen manga chapter number 240, a new revamped look of Yuji Itadori went viral. A colored manga panel showed the protagonist standing in a cool pose while exposing his left arm.

Alongside Yuji, Maki Zenin was also spotted standing in all her glory. Coming back to Yuji, the former vessel of Sukuna, he exposed his left arm, which had fish-like fins. The fins were clearly visible until the front of Yuji’s forearm.
Moreover, Yuji’s fist can be clearly seen in a bright red color. While the manga hasn’t confirmed that it’s Yuji’s Cursed Technique, a general consensus has already been formed. Most fans are convinced that Yuji has inherited Sukuna’s power.
Another critical detail that fans noticed was a substance covering Yuji’s right ear. While it could simply be the result of Sukuna severing Yuji’s ear earlier in the manga, there is no confirmation about the same.
Well, with chapter 240 of the manga slated to release on October 29, 2023, the cloud of confusion should be lifted. Until then, it seems like Gege Akutami is content with fans believing the new design for Yuji is a result of the protagonist inheriting the powers of the King of Curses.
Who is Sukuna’s New Vessel in Jujutsu Kaisen?
In chapter 212 of the manga, Sukuna finally gets a new main vessel for himself. Sukuna’s target was none other than Megumi Fushiguro. The King of Curses always showed keen interest in Fushiguro from the days he set his eyes on Yuji’s best friend.
With the manga series heading towards a befitting conclusion by the end of 2023, fans are divided about a potential final battle between Yuji and Sukuna (Fushiguro as the vessel.)
It could lead to an emotional ending, with Fushiguro potentially being killed to leave an everlasting impact on the fans.
As of now, the thought of Fushiguro’s death is on the back burner. The fanbase is much more excited about Yuji Itadori’s potential new Cursed Technique.
