Fans gained a lot of understanding about the Jujutsu world and some crucial backstories with the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. It raced through cursed users while introducing new characters like Yuta and Miguel. However, the most intriguing part about the movie was the unexpected revelation of Gojo and Geto’s bond.
While Jujutsu Kaisen 0 ended with a short flashback playing Gojo and Geto’s past, we delved further into their relationship with Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. There were a lot of questions among the viewers like why Geto became evil if he was a good guy to start with. It is also astonishing how the mangaka of Jujutsu Kaisen depicted Suguru Geto to connect with Gojo at a metaphorical level.
How Suguru Geto connects with Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen
Suguru Geto was actually created to depict prejudice and serve as a direct foil to Gojo being massively influenced by Shinobu Sensui from YuYu Hakusho. The mangaka of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, greatly empathized with Sensui’s character as he developed and grew along the series. However, while writing about Geto’s character, his feelings changed. Geto’s foil to Gojo was merely to represent how the Six-Eyes was a natural-born prodigy, while Geto, on the other hand, achieved his powers through extreme hard work.
Akutami further juxtaposed Geto’s design by making him wear a Gojo Gasa, a specific type of Buddhist monk robe. This made Geto connect with his best friend on a metaphorical level. Furthermore, Geto acting as a fake monk for a false religious organization was simply to portray the abyssal darkness that resided within him.

The relationship between Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo explained
Prior to splitting up and moving their own ways, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were so close that they were considered to be best friends. Both the characters met each other at Tokyo Jujutsu High. While Gojo acted recklessly and nonchalantly from time to time, Geto was a man with firm principles. Despite the differences in their personality, ideologies, and perspectives, the desire to protect and help the unfortunate in the Jujutsu society united these two.
While learning sorceries and completing missions with each other, their bond grew stronger and stronger as they became best friends. They were even called the “Strongest Duo” among other sorcerers. Gojo and Geto helped each other to grow, not only as powerful sorcerers but even as human beings. Their friendship was explored even further in Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen, which adapts the Hidden Inventory Arc.
