Though it has never been proven that Jolie was the cause of any happy homes being broken, there is still speculation that stars like Jennifer Aniston and Laura Dern are some of the many people who hate Jolie for dating their ex-lovers.
Billy Bob Thornton was dating Laura Dern before marrying Angelina Jolie
Billy Bob Thornton and Laura Dern dated before Angelina Jolie and Thornton suddenly got married. Dern gave an explanation for her separation in an interview about her romance with the 67-year-old actor. The 56-year-old actress referred to a third person in their connection, but never used Jolie’s name or accused her of ending her relationship with Thornton.
When discussing her romance with Thornton, Dern revealed that she left to film her movie, and returned to discover her partner had married someone else. The Son actress stated,
“I left our home to work on a movie, and while I was away, my boyfriend got married, and I’ve never heard from him again.”
She further added, “It’s like a sudden death. For no one has there been any closure or clarity.”
Reportedly, Dern was heartbroken after she was informed about the wedding. the Fargo actor got married to Jolie in May of 2000, in Las Vegas.

Thornton shared his statement in 2001 about ghosting his ex-lover Dern for Jolie. The Tombstone actor said that at that point his marriage with the Salt actress made him happy. He said,
“Others may say that you left our girl and married someone else. But it made me happy and somebody else happy. I’m sorry it caused pain.”
As per reports, there are still hard feelings between Thornton and Dern. In 2017, during an award event, Dern and the Bad Santa actor came across each other once again after their messy breakup. During the Golden Globe Awards, Thornton walked right past Dern but she looked away. The moment was captured on camera and for many days that moment caused a stir on the internet.
The identical narrative is also told by Jennifer Aniston. Brad Pitt was married to Aniston when Jolie and Brad Pitt filmed Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Throughout the course of the movie’s production, Jolie and Pitt became close friends. Although, like Dern, the 54-year-old actress never publicly accused Jolie of upending her marriage, it is said that Jolie is still not in Aniston’s good books.
