The Assassin’s Creed video game series has been around for over a decade and it is all set to grow with 2024’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows. However, some players still can’t get over the past installments, particularly 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins. Opinions are subjective but a significant number of fans have complained that the series hasn’t been the same after Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Just like the fans, actor Abubakar Salim, is not over the video game as he recently expressed interest in portraying the character of Bayek of Siwa once again as he feels like the story wasn’t finished. Unfortunately, Ubisoft has a lot of projects lined up that require attention, particularly the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will be the fourteenth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series.

Actor Abubakar Salim, who portrayed Bayek of Siwa, the protagonist of Ubisoft’s 2017 game, Assassin’s Creed Origins, recently appeared in an interview with Den of Geek and revealed that he is interested in portraying the character once again if there’s a sequel,
I want a sequel, man. Like I’m ready! 100 percent be there – I think it’s one of those things where, yeah, it just didn’t feel like the story was finished yet. So I would jump at it.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is often cited as one of the best games in the Assassin’s Creed series. The game received various prestigious awards and was praised for its story, characters, gameplay, worldbuilding, historical accuracy, and visuals. The games released after Origins are criticized by some fans as they believe the series went in a different direction after it.
The next game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, will be released on November 15, 2024
The idea of an Assassin’s Creed Origins sequel is indeed very exciting, however, it’s safe to say that it will not be happening any time soon. As of now, Ubisoft’s primary focus is Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the fourteenth major installment in the series. The game serves as a successor to 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage and will be the first title to be included in the Assassin’s Creed: Infinity platform.
Set in 16th-century Japan towards the end of the Sengoku period, the game will allow players to control two protagonists: Naoe, a female shinobi, and Yasuke, an African samurai. Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released for PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox Series X/S, Amazon Luna, and macOS on November 15, 2024.
