Henry Cavill has always been eager to take up the role of James Bond, auditioning for the role more than once. Although he lost the opportunity to become the spy to Daniel Craig previously, the game of who would be the next Bond is once again afoot. And this time around, Cavill is one of the top contenders for the role.

Since there is no outcome for it yet, it would make both Cavill’s fans as well as the actor himself happy for his next movie. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an upcoming movie based on a 2015 novel that will give the actor a James Bond-esque experience. Especially considering that the movie will revolve around World War II and Ian Fleming, the creator of Agent 007.

Henry Cavill To Star In Ian Fleming’s The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare

Henry Cavill has been fighting for the role of James Bond since Casino Royale needed a new Agent 007. The actor was trying for the role but was rejected, unfortunately. However, much to his luck, his upcoming movie will follow the events that took place during the Second World War with the involvement of Winston Churchill and Ian Fleming himself. The movie will see Cavill as the leader of the first-ever Black Ops Team.

“I have been fortunate enough to partner with Guy on a number of films over the years and he always delivers something that audiences crave – original, action-packed, and entertaining theatrical experiences. I am delighted to be teaming up again to bring Ministry and its amazing cast to audiences.”

The movie has a huge cast with Cavill, Henry Golding, Eiza González, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and more. It is written by Guy Ritchie as well as directed by him. It will be following true events and is based on the book of the same name written by Damien Lewis. The movie will see the turning events of the war as Churchill and Fleming work together to initiate the first-ever special ops team.

Although the movie will not be an exact copy of the themes that James Bond has, it will follow the entire aesthetic of a spy-thriller movie with amazing action sequences to grasp the audience. Since Ian Fleming is responsible for bringing James Bond to life, it only adds up to there being multiple similarities in the movie that the author manifested in his novels. Henry Cavill might not have gotten the role of Agent 007 yet, but he has bagged the opportunity to perform in a similar theme and background as the famous spy.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will be available to watch in theatres in 2024.
