Matt Damon is an incredible actor. When it comes to his relationships, A-lister was certainly in the buzz in the past. However, the relationships he had were short-lived and he decided to get settled with his beloved wife Luciana Barroso.
Damon was aware of his relationships with other celebrities in Hollywood but they were far from developing into something serious. Damon himself admitted that he would not go out with celebrities after his failed relationship with Winona Ryder and Minnie Driver.

After his relationships with Winona Ryder and Minnie Driver, Matt Damon has developed one strict rule when it comes to romance and that is— no celebrity dating. His experiences with his past lovers were not horrible but there is something that does not click for the actor. “It’s always silly to say ‘never’ in these interviews — then people come back and throw it in your face,” Damon once told The Washington Post. But “no, I can’t imagine being in a position where I would — I mean, my present situation notwithstanding, even if I wasn’t in my present situation, even if I was single — I can’t imagine being with a celebrity,” he added. The actor candidly pointed out the failed celebrity relationship of his best pal Ben Affleck with Jennifer Lopez.
“It kind of magnifies exponentially the whole part of this thing that I don’t like, and that really gets in the way of doing my job and interferes with the life part of life. I mean, just look at what happened to Ben.”
Damon later found the love of his life and he knew that she was the person he could spend the rest of the days of his life. The woman he married was never a celebrity and the actor is currently in a successful marriage.
Luciana Barroso— Love of Matt Damon’s Life
Damon’s wife Luciana Barroso was never a celebrity, when Damon met her for the first time, Barroso was a single mom and a bartender. But before meeting her, Damon was quite uncertain about his marriage. “I remember thinking, in my early 30s, that I wouldn’t [get married], you know? I didn’t think it was going to happen for me,” Damon told The Hollywood Reporter.
“My brother found his soul mate very young; he’d just turned 26 when they were married. He’d been married for 10 years by the time I even met my wife, and I looked at this really happy, wonderful marriage and kind of went, ‘I guess that’s not going to happen for me.’ And then it did.”
They are perfect together, at least, the couple believes so. Barroso inspires The Martian star at the lowest point of his life and career. They have support for each other which fuelled a happy marriage. The duo tied the knot in 2005 and share four kids together including Barroso’s child from previous marriage.
