Momoshiki Otsutsuki’s immeasurable strength in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations led many fans to believe he could surpass Kaguya. While the author himself placed this character above Kaguya, several fans on the internet believe otherwise.
Momoshiki Otsutsuki’s power is exaggerated in Boruto according to fans
Momoshiki Otsutsuki is a member of the Otsutsuki clan. He is an antagonist in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations written by Masashi Kishimoto. Apart from being a powerful member of the Otsutsuki clan, he is a sadistic and sinister being who often looks down on others, including his father. His utter disregard for the existence of other Shinobi makes him a hateful character.
Being a descendant of the Otsutsuki clan gives him mastery over the seven nature releases, including earth, water, fire, wind, lightning, yin, and wood release. Besides that, he’s one of the few Otsutsuki members who can revive himself using the karma seal. He effortlessly takes on both Sasuke and Naruto in a fight.
He boasts about his chakra prowess, undefeated nature, as well as ability to match up to his ancestor Kaguya Otsutsuki. While he may be the strongest character in Boruto, he most certainly won’t be able to match up to, let alone defeat, Kaguya Otsutsuki as this Reddit user points out.

Momoshiki Otsutsuki’s strength isn’t as unmatched since he was defeated. Although he was killed by Naruto and Sasuke, he was a formidable villain in the series. As for his claims of defeating Kaguya Otsutsuki, he won’t be able to surpass her because of several reasons. To say the least, his claims have been rather exaggerated in the series.
Kaguya Otsustsuki’s abilities in Naruto stand unparalleled
Kaguya Otsutsuki is the progenitor of the major clans in the Naruto series. These include the infamous Hyuga, Senju, Kaguya, Uzumaki, and Uchiha clans. The Rabbit Goddess was also the first being to wield and harness chakra from the God Tree and pass it down to the Shinobis. She’s also one of the most powerful villains in the Naruto series.
Her abilities to amass and manipulate chakra make her superior to her descendant, Momoshiki Otsutsuki. Her dojutsu coupled with her regeneration and mastery over the eight nature releases is truly remarkable. While both Otsutsuki members possess Kekkei-Mora, Kaguya performs it effortlessly and doesn’t rely on chakra pills like her descendant.
To add to that, both Otsutsuki clan members are vulnerable to Senjutsu. Although Kaguya wasn’t fazed by Rasengan, it fatally wounded and killed Momoshiki. Kaguya Otsutsuki is far superior to her descendants through her ability to amass, control, and manipulate chakra effortlessly. She’s a stronger match in terms of her immortality and regeneration and truly lives up to her God status.
