Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may not patch things up with Kate Middleton and Prince William anytime soon, despite the latter’s best efforts to end the feud. Markle and Harry have a strained relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales. A royal expert now claims that Markle is the one preventing Harry from reconciling with his family. The expert shared that Markle is not yet ready to forget her experiences with the Royals.
Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis has put Prince Harry in a difficult position after he had earlier made some scathing accusations against his brother and sister-in-law. Harry and Markle currently reside in Southern California, away from the Royal family in the UK.
Meghan Markle’s Sense Of Grievance Stops Her From Reconciling With Kate Middleton
Royal expert Tom Quinn has claimed that Kate Middleton and Prince William want to reconcile the relationship with Meghan Markle, but the Duchess of Sussex is not ready to let things go. Quinn shared with The Mirror that both Prince Harry and Markle have felt the need to “extend an olive branch”, especially after the Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis recently.
However, Markle is still holding on to the bad experiences she allegedly faced from the royal institution. This sense of grievance is preventing not only just Markle but also Harry from making anything meaningful happen. The royal author also shared that Kensington Palace hopes Middleton’s illness would bring the feuding brothers together. Quinn shared with The Mirror:
“There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness – Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening. Illness often brings warring family members together, and there have been hopes at Kensington Palace that Kate’s illness might do it.”
Quinn further added that Prince Harry is ready for a reconciliation, especially because he feels guilty about accusing his brother and ill sister-in-law of some terrible things. However, he has to support his wife completely. Quinn shared that he has to wait for Markle to feel comfortable about going back to the Royal family. Markle may want an apology from the family, which Quinn believed was not going to happen. He shared:
“Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal family have been sufficiently nice to her – and grovelingly apologised for the past – it’s not going to happen.”
Kate Middleton was hospitalized in January for her abdominal surgery. After brutal media scrutiny about her continued absence after the surgery, Middleton posted a video on March 22 about her cancer diagnosis. This revelation came as another shock to the people of the UK after King Charles’ cancer diagnosis last year.
Meghan Markle Refused To Bring Her Children To Visit After Request From Kate Middleton
Tom Quinn earlier shared that in an effort to mend their relationship, Kate Middleton and Prince William reached out to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They urged Harry and Markle to bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK to visit. However, Markle reportedly refused the offer, which could have served as an opportunity to mend things. Tom Quinn shared with The Mirror:
“There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK. William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”
Archie and Lilibet have spent very limited time with the Royal family since they live in Southern California with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. They met with the Royal family during the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. Harry and Markle did not bring their children along in September 2022, when the Queen passed away, due to security concerns.
As experts continue to give their two cents on the feud, the Princess of Wales’ health and welfare has become a top priority to those who are close to the Royal family.
