Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe has been on a losing streak as its recent outings have not received the same fanfare that the franchise used to enjoy. While some call it superhero fatigue, many fans opine that the franchise needs a creative overhaul and a focus on quality rather than quantity. The new generation of Marvel heroes also seems to lack the excitement that was there for the OG Avengers.

With the Multiverse Saga’s climactic event on the horizon, Kevin Feige and the team at Marvel need to make sure that they figure out the talent that they want on board and the direction they will be heading in. Avengers 5, previously called Avengers: Kang Dynasty, has been in trouble for the past few months due to many changes in cast and crew. First, director Destin Daniel Cretton left the film, and then the main antagonist Jonathan Majors was fired.

Now, the X (formerly Twitter) page HolyField News reported that Kevin Feige was meeting up with directors Ryan Coogler and Jon Favreau for one of them to take over directorial duties for Avengers 5. While no confirmations have been made yet, the scooper page reported that the Black Panther and Iron Man directors were in talks to revive the dwindling project.

Avengers 5 was set to be the first part of the cinematic climax to the Multiverse Saga, with Avengers: Secret Wars being the final film. The two-parter reportedly hoped to gather Earth’s mightiest heroes once again and assemble all of the heroes that have been developing since Avengers: Endgame. With Fantastic Four and the X-Men films coming under the MCU, fans have been waiting for the beloved characters to also be featured in the film.

While HolyField News reported that Kevin Feige was discussing Avengers 5 with Ryan Coogler and Jon Favreau, the page also revealed the direction in which the film was heading and which characters it would be focussing on. The page reported that the film would explore the newer leaders of the MCU such as Spider-Man, Shuri, Shang-Chi, and Falcon.

The report said that the film would familiarize the audiences with the lore and arcs of these characters and then proceed to assemble all of them in Avengers: Secret Wars. The report said,

“Avengers 5 will be a reassembling project for Earth’s mightiest heroes, Kevin Feige wants fans to connect and experience the journey with all of our new faces like Sam Wilson, Spider-Man, Shang Chi, and Shuri before throwing them into Secret Wars. The film will also heavily mention The Council of Kangs, Ms Marvel bangles, and the 10 Rings.”

The inclusion of fan favorite and proven directors like Ryan Coogler and Jon Favreau might be the new vision for Kevin Feige’s creative overhaul of the Marvel Universe. The CEO recently stopped production of the Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again after being disappointed with the filmed footage.
