Harrison Ford has a reputation of being a cranky and serious celebrity but he has often let loose and showed his fun side. The actor has given hilarious interviews and some of his career decisions are just so bizarre that it goes against the serious persona he portrays in most of his films.

One such decision is his cameo in Will Ferrell’s newsroom comedy Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The film is a sequel to the actor’s classic Anchorman, in which he played newscaster Ron Burgundy. The sequel sees him head to New York to make his mark in the industry.

As the clip of Ford from the film resurfaced, Marvel fans have been focused on his transformation into a ‘werehyena’ (a hybrid of a Werewolf and a hyena). Many began to joke that Marvel president Kevin Feige got the idea to cast the Star Wars actor to play Red Hulk when he watched this cameo from Anchorman 2.

The actor will be playing Thunderbolt Ross in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, where he has been elected the President of the USA.

Will Ferrell brought in a new era of absurd comedy to the mainstream. After his stint on Saturday Night Live, the actor transitioned to the big screen and headlined multiple cult comedies such as the Anchorman series, Elf, and Daddy’s Home. His Anchorman franchise is often regarded as a modern classic in the genre.

Recreating the hilarious newscaster wars from the first film, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues upped the stakes and scale with numerous celebrity cameos portraying various news channels. Actors such as Jim Carrey, Will Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Marion Cotillard, and Kanye West appeared for the fight in which Ford turns into a werehyena.

The Han Solo star mentioned that he found the filming process bizarre and that he did not have a critical scene. He said to Entertainment Tonight (via NME),

It was bizarre. They weren’t all in the scene I did. It was just what’s his name and the applesauce girl [Christina Applegate]…It’s easy enough to cut out. It’s not critical.

The actor was definitely wrong because the scene makes the already whacky battle sequence all the more crazy as he turns into a monster in the middle of Central Park.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is available to stream on Fubo TV.
