Fortnite has been an excellent platform for Epic Games to bring in some of the biggest names in entertainment, through collaborations that have often been well-received by its players. However, the platform may have outdone itself with a recent development that could perhaps see a scene from the game play out on the silver screen.

Marvel fans would be delighted to know that Fortnite has managed to capture the attention of none other than Kevin Feige, one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s leading producers.

Chapter 2 of the game’s Battle Royale Mode saw the emergence of Galactus, an infamous villain from Marvel comics, as its main antagonist for its fourth season.

His appearance in the game led to the Devourer of Worlds event which saw a lot of Marvel fans smile with glee as Galactus devoured the island that the Battle Royale mode takes place in.

However, it seems that it wasn’t just Marvel fans who were smiling to themselves as Galactus set the event in motion, Kevin Feige may have gained a few ideas for the upcoming Marvel film Fantastic Four: The First Steps.

A post on X from a fan of both Marvel’s films and Fortnite was delighted about the news that Feige found Galactus’ destruction of Fortnite Island so well done that he shared the clip with his team working on the new Fantastic Four film.

Reactions from players to the post showcased below may not dive into why this is great news for Epic Games, but do indicate a lot of positive attention for its platform and the upcoming reboot of the popular superhero group’s story after a disastrous outing in 2015.

One player’s response serves as a reminder that the two giants have come together in the past, which only goes to show that the title’s influence on popular culture may have come full circle with this new development.

While Feige’s move could be construed as a compliment to Fortnite or as a reminder to his team over at Marvel that he values quality more than quantity, Epic Games and its developers likely enjoyed the attention.

Either way, it’s a proud moment for Epic Games for its work to be recognized in such a fashion. Hopefully, there are many more of these moments to come in Fortnite’s future.

Do you believe Feige’s actions are admiration for Epic Games’ work or a critique of his own team? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
