Bleach is one of the Big Three of anime and returned after a decade-long hiatus in October 2022. Even though it is one of the most popular ones in the anime and manga industry, it remains the least popular one when it comes to the Big Three. Naruto and One Piece have always dominated Tite Kubo’s masterpiece, with the former ruling overseas and the latter dominating Japan.

After the hiatus began, most Bleach fans lost all hope and accepted the third place, but since its return, they have started to believe in its supremacy again. They even pointed out several points that makes it better than the other mangas.

1. Bleach Is Better At Expression

Bleach fans pointed out several reasons that can change people’s perspective regarding Tite Kubo’s magnum opus. The first thing they said was that the characters often speak through their emotions and looks.

Kubo’s character representations are so uncomplicated that words often seem unnecessary. A simple nod or a blink of an eye is enough to convey the message to the readers. Kubo’s drawings are praiseworthy and these small things bring them to life.

2. Less Fillers

Naruto and One Piece have always been the more popular stories among the Big Three. Since its inception, Bleach has remained underrated even after producing several iconic scenes. Two decades after its release, many fans still believe the same when it comes to the Big Three. But it is ahead of ita peers in one department.

Naruto has always been criticized for featuring multiple fillers and backstories that often have no significance to the main plot. In this regard, Bleach outshines Naruto and features only the necessary ones. Even though there are fillers, they are well-written and do not seem to be exhaustive. Everything but the Rain is a great example of why Bleach‘s fillers are always so good.

3. Fashion Sense

Unlike the other two of the Big Three, the characters in Bleach do not stick to a single dress. Through different arcs, they change their dress codes, respectively. Naruto sticks to the same orange outfit, and Monkey D. Luffy has the same red shirt. Even their friends and crew members also wear the same dress.

Ichigo Kurosaki‘s fashion sense has always been better than the other two protagonists. Tite Kubo made sure to change his wardrobe after every arc. It also applies to the other Shinigami who became his friends. Bleach‘s wardrobe dynamism makes it more real.

4. Character Dynamism

There is no definition of good and evil characters in Bleach. Most of them are grey, lingering on the line that separates black from white. Morality is one of the biggest questionable factors in the franchise. There are several instances where the villain’s justification felt better than the protagonist’s.

Fans are often confused about whom to support and whom to hate. The narrative leaves them unable to decide until the very last moment. No one thought Aizen Sosuke would be the mastermind behind everything. On the other hand, Gneryusai Yamamoto often appears arrogant and lacks the compassion that fans expect from “good” characters.

5. Diversity In Battles

Bleach never had a poor action sequence. The emotions and actions are always maintained at the proper ratio, and it makes the battles more appealing. When Ichigo faced Ulquiorra, there were so many emotions at play. Even when it comes to matchups, Bleach has always been on point. It does not stick to the same page and explores the different options.

Barragan vs. Soifon was an odd matchup, but it was entertaining. Stark and Kyoraku’s fight was another instance where the fans could not get up from their seats. Not only were they the strongest captains of each faction, but their vibes also matched. Kubo made sure that the action sequences always exceeded fans’ expectations.
