The full-length animated feature, Kung Fu Panda 4, will be released in 2024. The series has come a long way. It originally debuted in 2008 and follows the story of a clumsy Panda named Po. Hurt by his father’s deception, he then trains rigorously in martial arts to become a master.

After three great action flicks under its belt, the animated series is all set for its fourth installment now. But there’s an interesting fact about the fourth movie that can stun the fans. It is that Kung Fu Panda 4 has already set a record by surpassing Chris Pratt’s Mario movie even before its release.

Kung Fu Panda 4 Breaks Record, Tops Chris Pratt’s Super Mario Movie

Kung Fu Panda 4 trailer racked up more than 142 million views across channels. And that too in just one day. TikTok was the major platform that helped the animated comedy’s trailer fetch most of the views.

It surpassed the movie that made a total profit of $1.246 billion worldwide — the highest-grossing movie of 2023 and the highest-grossing movie based on a video game.

Yes, right, it’s Chris Pratt’s The Super Mario Bros. But that wasn’t the standalone Universal animated film that Kung Fu Panda 4 outperformed. As per the studio, titles including Minions 2, Sing 2, and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish are also on the list. The movie’s trailer also rocketed to the top of YouTube’s trending page.

What’s More About Kung Fu Panda 4?

Three days back, fans got to see Kung Fu Panda 4‘s trailer, where they saw the anticipated return of Jack Black as Po. But this time, our Dragon Warrior will be seen with his formidable foe — a shape-shifting Chameleon (catalyzing Tai Lung’s return) voiced by Oscar winner Viola Davis.

Another Oscar winner who’ll be joining the installment is Ke Huy Quan, voicing the role of Han. The recent trailer not only introduced the amazing return but also introduced Awkwafina’s Zhen and gave a glimpse of Viola Davis’ villainous Chameleon as she uses her shapeshifting powers.

Mike Mitchel will be directing the film. He has an extensive animated movie portfolio. After making waves for his direction in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, Trolls, and Shrek Forever After, Mitchell is now ready to gain accolades for the Jack Black starrer.

Kung Fu Panda 4 is set to release on March 8, 2024.
