Larian Studios’ blockbuster addition, Baldur’s Gate 3, has been captivating folks since its release last year, keeping their excitement as fresh as ever. This is thanks to the regular updates and new features continually offered to players. But it looks like there are still some things missing, and the dev has big plans for that: the game’s crossplay and Photo Mode are on their way.
Larian discussed the new features that will be added to the game in a recently published Steam post. This is really exciting news for fans because crossplay and Photo Mode features, which some think should have been available at launch, will come to the title soon.
Larian Talks About Crossplay and Photo Mode Plans for Baldur’s Gate 3
As mentioned earlier, it’s now official that Larian Studios is working on crossplay and Photo Mode for Baldur’s Gate 3. The dev recently discussed their plans with fans and mentioned that these features will likely be added to the title in the future.
A schedule for when these additions will be made has not been shared for now; however, now that this announcement has been made, fans will no longer have to wait too long.
For those who don’t know, crossplay allows fans on different platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, PC, etc.) to play online games together in the same area. This is usually offered to players when the games are first released, but it may be delayed, such as in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Photo Mode is another useful feature for capturing perfect moments in games. It usually works with a pause menu or a shortcut button that helps you capture the perfect moment. When this mode is activated, the in-game action stops, and you can take great photos from your free camera angle. To be honest, this feature would be great in the misty world of Baldur’s Gate 3.
The studio also mentioned that Patch 7, slated for release in the near future, will bring improved evil endings to the game, allowing for even darker conclusions to your most sinister playthroughs. And yes, this applies to non-Durge players as well.
The update will also focus on the introduction of official modding tools, empowering players to morph the game into the peculiar nightmare world of their imagination by changing visuals, animations, sounds, stats, and more. As it is known, the game recently received Patch 6 and Hotfix 25. Therefore, we may have to wait a little longer for Patch 7.
The Latest Status of the Game

What’s more, the game’s all-time high is 875k, making it into the top 10 of the most-played Steam games list.
