Mindhunter star Lauren Glazier is reportedly joining the cast of Disney+’s Wonder Man. The upcoming Marvel TV show is an unconventional comedy series, and production will commence in the coming months. Early news revealed titular role will be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Ben Kingsley is also reprising his iconic Trevor Slattery role.
Wonder Man will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, together with James Ponsoldt and Stella Meghie. First reports said that Cretton will be running a few episodes, although later on it was revealed that he will executive produce the show and be more involved in the series than fans had previously assumed.

Disney+ Wonder Man Adds Mindhunter Star Lauren Glazier To The Cast
In an exclusive report from Deadline, Mindhunter’s Lauren Glazier has been cast in a supporting role for the series. Her character, as well as the plot of the show, is kept under wraps. Glazier’s other credits include Tales of the Walking Dead and Apple TV+’s See.
Wonder Man, also known as Simons Williams, is a descendant of a wealthy industrialist whose company competes against Stark Industries. He worked for Baron Zemo and received ionic talents or super strength. He also used to be an antagonist of the Avengers but eventually became their ally.
Producer Stephen Broussard spoke with ComicBook in an exclusive interview and teased fans that the series is unlike anything they have seen before:
“[Wonder Man will] be definitely influenced by the comics. One of the things that we’re excited about it is that it’s going to feel very unique. It’s not going to feel like anything you’ve quite seen in the MCU before, and the kind of stories we can tell on Disney+, which has been fun.”
Other actors reported to join the cast are filmmaker Werner Herzog and Better Call Saul’s Bob Odenkirk.

Did Wonder Man Almost Appear In An MCU Movie?
Wonder Man was almost introduced in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Nathan Fillion portrayed the character but only appeared in one Easter egg scene. Ultimately, it was removed during post-production.
Gunn explained on his Facebook page why he had to remove Wonder Man’s scene in the film:
“I really do love the character of Simon Williams/Wonder Man in the comics… But, of course, in a movie set 99.9% in space, I didn’t really have a place for him. So in a small flash to earth, I decided to put a theater playing a ‘Simon Williams Film Festival,’ with six Simon Williams movie posters outside… Unfortunately, the small section of the scene where they appeared slowed down the movie, and I had to cut the Easter eggs from the film.”
Now that Wonder Man is finally debuting on MCU, fans could not help but think how the show is rolling faster than other earlier announced series. In a Reddit comment, a user said, “The fact that this show is rapidly developing faster than shows that were announced before it… I’m very intrigued of why…” The frequent updates on the casting and the production of the series are, indeed, quite interesting.
Wonder Man has no release date for Disney+ yet, so follow and stay tuned for the latest updates.
