Industry Insider on Mike Faist Joining Fantastic Four Reboot

Discussions surrounding the potential cast of Matt Shakman’s Fantastic Four casting have been going on since the studio announced the movie. The Boys star Jack Quaid was recently rumored to join the MCU as Human Torch in the upcoming film.

However, he denied such claims, saying, “Nope. Not playing Johnny Storm, but hey, I’m flattered.” As he debunked the rumors surrounding his casting in the reboot, a new name immediately joined the list. A Twitter user shared that the 31-year-old American actor, Mike Faist, is in talks to star as Johnny Storm in the Marvel reboot, citing the industry insider Jeff Sneider as the source.

However, the claim has been debunked by Jeff Sneider himself. He replied to the tweet as he called out the Twitter user for making such claims using his name. “Is this where we’re at now? People just tweet nonsense and type “via @TheInSneider?” he stated while calling out the Twitter user.

Sneider then went on to deny the claim about Mike Faist’s potential casting, saying that he never said anything about the West Side Story actor being associated with the Fantastic Four reboot. “No idea if this is true. Have never said this or even entertained the thought…” he further mentioned in his tweet.

Fantastic Four Expected to Start Filming Next Year

The MCU reboot of Fantastic Four has been in development for a while now. The studio first confirmed the movie during the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. However, not much progress has been made for the MCU debut of Marvel’s first family.

Kevin Feige officially announced the reboot in 2022 during the San Diego Comic-Con and D23 Expo, confirming that it would be released under phase 6 of the cinematic universe. With Matt Shakman set to direct the film, the initial release date for the film was announced to be November 2024, which was later pushed back to February 2025.

And the studio once again made a change in its release schedule, forwarding it to May 2025. The production for Matt Shakman’s reboot is reportedly expected to start in January 2024, and there has been no news regarding the cast of the film.

However, several reports have also claimed that there is a possibility the studio is keeping it all under the table and may have already cast some of the lead stars of the movie. Marvel Studios’ has not said anything official yet.
