Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is among the highly anticipated movies of 2023. Into the Spider-Verse got massive critical acclaim and is still hailed among the top 3 Spider-Man movies to this date. It featured 6 different Spider-Men from the Multiverse, and we expect to see many others in the upcoming sequel. We already know that Spider-Man 2099 will have a prominent role. Spider-Punk and Ben Reilly aka Scarlet Spider are also supposed to appear. But will Tom Holland’s Spider-Man also have a cameo in the animated space? Well, we’ve got an update from the producers that might sound promising.

Will Tom Holland Cameo in Across the Spider-Verse?

A Peter Parker variant was a mainstay in part 1. And we reckon that he will be back in Across the Spider-Verse too. But many MCU fans and the fans of Sony’s Spider-Verse would love it if Tom Holland’s Spidey also makes a cameo in the upcoming movie. And it could actually become a reality now as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse producer Christopher Miller was recently asked about it, and he had a positive reply.

In the latest issue of Empire magazine, here’s what Miller said when asked about the possibility of seeing and hearing Tom Holland in the movie:

“Let’s say… Anything is possible in the multiverse”

That obviously isn’t a definite yes, but he didn’t say no either. So, people could still hope.

Tom Holland Spider-Man in Spider-Verse?

And besides, the latest statement is better than what Miller and co-producer Phil Lord said in an interview back in February 2022 when they were asked about the same. Here’s how the conversation went:

Miller: The Multiverse is big and wide. And all things grow… Why would you think a Multiverse, in which many things are possible, that [those things are] not related?”

Lord: Everything’s possible except for this one thing that everyone wants.

That one thing is a cameo from Holland.

How the MCU Could Join the Spider-Verse

It is likely that since Sony owns both the Spider-Verse and the Spider-Man aspect of MCU, they could unite both their franchises if they wanted to. But even if for some reason, Marvel and Disney resist putting Tom Holland’s Peter Parker into one of the upcoming Spider-Verse sequels, then they could do something else and still connect the MCU to their animated Spider-Verse franchise.

It is already established that Sony’s live-action Spider-Man franchises exist in MCU’s vast multiverse. So, they don’t really need to put Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to connect their Spider-Verse with the MCU. They could just have either one of Andrew Garfield’s or Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men to cameo in Across the Spider-Verse. That will also come as a nice surprise and a point will be proven that MCU’s Multiverse and Sony’s Spider-Verse are one and the same.

But with that being said, Kevin Feige and co. shouldn’t really have a problem if Tom Holland gets a cameo in Across the Spider-Verse. But if he doesn’t, then it should totally happen in Beyond the Spider-Verse, because Holland’s Spider-Man is the crown jewel of the Web Slingers. So his cameo should be saved for last.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hits theaters on June 2, 2023.
