Christopher Walken has worked on a lot of projects that have given him recognition beyond compare. Not only has his talent shone in front of the camera, but he is unafraid to display his likeness for the art of acting in the theatre as well. Having worked with some highly credited directors like Quentin Tarantino and Denis Villeneuve, experience is not something he is short of.
He has worked on projects as big as that of Pulp Fiction and even has an Academy Award in his name. His latest film is also part of one of the most successful franchises, Dune: Part 2. With so much in his bag, there is little to no time he finds outside of work. Surprisingly, he likes things that way.
Christopher Walken is not Fond of Being out of Work
Christopher Walken barely ever stays out of work. That is not something he finds coincidental either. It is out of pure choice and fair reasoning. He likes to jump from one film to another so as to not bother his mind into a place he would rather not visit. As per IMDb, he thinks of it as the hibernation of his mind.
“When I don’t have any work sometimes, a kind of thing sets in where my mind shuts down. It’s almost like hibernation. It’s not that I’m unhappy, but I’m not thinking anything. Then I’ll go and watch television. And after an hour or two, I’ll think, ‘You’re just sitting there watching television and it’s not even interesting.’ And there’s nothing to do. Life becomes meaningless.”
He finds himself somewhat bored at first, trying to figure out something to do when he is not acting. The stimulation that his brain requires falls flat once he finds himself in and out of work. To deal with that, Walken thinks of being without work to be a life without meaning.

Christopher Walken Fears Sickness
Christopher Walken does not limit himself to only movies when it comes to his acting career. Not only has he been part of various television shows, but also of plays where he has gotten the opportunity to show his theatrical side. As per IMDb, the actor talked about how intimidation slowly fades away the more used to a set one becomes.
“With stage fright you keep on doing it and eventually the fear goes away. If you stick around long enough you become very hard to intimidate. It is very difficult to make me nervous about working these days. There have been so many times when I thought I was finished, but it was not true – you just keep going. I am scared of sickness, pollution and crazy people but, work-wise, there is nothing to frighten me.”
He talked about how there is nothing in his work that scares him. However, when it comes to more mundane things, he fears not only pollution but also sickness. Being nervous while filming and being intimidated by the people around him is only a small obstacle to Walken, one that he can easily surpass.
