Tom Hardy Won A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship

Tom Hardy once participated in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship which was held by the Ultimate Martial Arts Championships at Oakgrove School in Milton Keynes. Everyone seemed to recognize him the moment he entered but he did not let his stardom affect his humbleness.

“Everyone recognised him but he was very humble and was happy to take time out for people to take photographs with him,” said a spokesperson stated. “It was a real pleasure to have him compete at our event.”

Not just that, but he won every single match he participated in, ultimately winning the entire tournament. He silently participated and patiently took photos with everyone who wanted them. He did not use his stage name to enter the tournament and instead used his real name, Edward Hardy, to participate. Although it may be a peculiar incident for fans to come by, it is most definitely not uncommon for the actor to participate in martial art tournaments and win almost every single time. He even encourages his opponents to see him only as their rival and not as a celebrity.

“I’ve done about six tournaments and I’ve been on the podium in every one,” Appleby added. “But he’s probably the toughest competitor I’ve had – he certainly lived up to his Bane character, that’s for sure.”

He even compared the actor to his character in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, Bane. He stated that despite having won so many championships, no opponent has been as tough as Hardy.
