Ellen Pompeo Recalls Her On-Set Argument With Denzel Washington
Ellen Pompeo’s excellent portrayal as Dr. Meredith Grey in ABC’s popular medical drama Grey’s Anatomy earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award. Nevertheless, while the actress was working the show’s season 12, she admitted she had a verbal altercation with Denzel Washington, who came on board to direct one of the episodes. The actress said she was improvising a line, saying,
“I was like, ‘Look at me when you apologize. Look at me. And that wasn’t in the dialogue. And Denzel went ham on my *ss. He was like, ‘I’m the director. Don’t you tell him what to do.'”
She continued,
“I was like, ‘Listen, mother f–ker, this is my show. This is my set. Who are you telling? You barely even know where the bathroom is.”‘
Pompeo concluded,
“We didn’t get through it without a fight, but that’s actors for you. Passionate and fiery, and that’s where you get the magic, and that’s where you get the good stuff. So, it was an amazing experience, it really was.”
The actress claimed that while filming a particular scene, she had improvised one dialogue, and that’s when she got involved in a verbal spat with him. Ellen Pompeo is a beautiful star. She has done many incredible films in her career and has established herself as a leading star in showbiz.
