Zachary Levi Almost Quit Acting After Rejection

During an episode of The FilmUp Podcast, Zachary Levi was asked to reflect on the tough time he faced during his journey and how he motivated himself to keep going to become what he is today. In response, Levi reflected how it was very discouraging for him when his shows were canceled after the pilots.

“I got the first pilot, didn’t get picked up. I mean that’s tough. The second pilot didn’t get picked up. I was basically pretty convinced I should just stop,” Levi said. “I was able to step in and I tested for pilots, I mean all pilot season. Despite that, Zachary Levi felt that he wasn’t succeeding because, for two years, he wasn’t able to secure any major bookings. He reflected on the time he prayed to God to take these opportunities away if acting wasn’t meant for him.

“I felt like I was failing because two years in a row I’m not booking any of those bigger things. So, I really had a coming to Jesus moment where I was sitting in my car praying one night and I was like ‘God, I don’t want to be wasting my time or yours, so if this not what I’m supposed to do then take this away from me.'”

Thankfully, the Shazam actor continued on the same path and landed some of the popular TV and film roles.
