The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope has just been announced for Nintendo Switch. Little Hope will be the second game in the series coming to Nintendo Switch, after The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan was announced and released earlier this year. Little Hope is all set to come out on Switch next month, along with several other big titles all lined up for October.

Some of October’s releases include Cricket 24: Official Game of The Ashes on the 5th of October, Borderlands 3: Ultimate Edition coming on the 6th of October, and Batman: Arkham Trilogy on the 13th of October to name a few. However with Halloween right around the corner could this new port of Little Hope be the perfect switch game to take us into the horror season?
Will Little Hope Fair Better Than the Poorly Received Man of Medan Switch Port?
The Dark Pictures Anthology series features a narrative-driven game by Until Dawn developers Supermassive Games in which player choices matter and have consequences throughout the game.
Man of Medan, the first game in The Dark Pictures Anthology, came out on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles back in 2019. It was followed by Little Hope in 2020, House of Ashes in 2021, and The Devil in Me in 2022.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan got a Switch port back in May this year to fairly mixed reviews. On release, Man of Medan suffered a lot from frame stuttering and noticeably downscaled visuals, that left the narrative game a ghost of its previous self.
On the upside, the Switch version also included updated gameplay features and an extended playable chapter titled “Flooded” which featured new “opportunities” for death towards the end of the game.
What New Features Could We See in This New Version of Little Hope?
Little Hope tells the story of four students and a Professor who after surviving a bus crash get diverted through the town of Little Hope where they find themselves entrapped in an impenetrable fog. In their attempt to escape, the group witness grotesque apparitions, have to unravel terrifying visions and experience the horrors of the 17th-century Andover Witch Trials.
The Switch version of the game is priced at $19.99, the same as the first game in the series. Players can pair up with a friend online in the multiplayer mode or with up to four friends in offline couch mode. The Switch version will include the Curator’s Cut game mode, which was only available to those who had pre-ordered the game.

The Switch version will also have an updated UI and interactions, and wider accessibility options including options to increase or decrease subtitle sizing. Gamers who wouldn’t mind the graphical shortcomings on the Switch should still be able to have a good experience of the game.
Little Hope revived mixed reviews on launch with some praising its gorgeous visuals and highly-detailed interiors, whereas others criticised its lacklustre story, which was “dull” if you weren’t running away from monsters.
