Microsoft accepted the defeat of Xbox in the console wars
The Federal Trade Commission of the USA is allegedly opposing the multi-million dollar deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard because the deal will give allow Microsoft to dominate the gaming market and they can make games by Activision exclusive to Xbox only which will be a huge blow to the community.
Although Microsoft has denied it doing anything of the sort, the company further will present its opening arguments in court today that they have lost the ‘console wars‘. The document says,
“Xbox and Activision Both Face Intense Competition.
Xbox has lost the console wars, and its rivals are positioned to continue to dominate, including by leveraging exclusive content. Xbox has consistently ranked third in consoles behind PlayStation and Nintendo.”
Although it is a bold opening argument strategy, it is still unsure if this approach would work in the favor of Microsoft or not.
