One of the biggest side quests in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is finding all 42 Spider-Bots. They are scattered across the large sandbox of New York City and are hidden alongside buildings. You will notice one nearby due to the colorful pulse they emit.

They will not show up on your map, so you have to swing around to find them in each borough. If you’re having trouble collecting all the Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, here is a comprehensive guide with tips, tricks, and locations for the hidden collectible.

What Are The Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

The Spider-Bots are a collectible to find in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. With each one collected, you receive 150 XP and 100 Tech Parts. If you collect all 42, that means you’ll receive 6,300 XP and 4,200 Tech Parts.

A secret mission will unlock, showcasing an Easter Egg of another Spider-Man character. In addition, you’ll receive the Bronze Trophy “Funky Wireless Protocols”, 1,000 XP and 400 Tech Parts.

Finding the Spider-Bots may sound as simple as swinging around until you find them in each area. However, if you’re not diligent enough in keeping track of where you’re going, you can go around in circles.

Look for the rainbow/colorful pulses for Spider-Bots in Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Look for the rainbow/colorful pulses for Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

First tip is to always be up in the air. Whether it’s your web swinging or the use of the web wings, all the Spider-Bots will be above ground. Second, the rainbow pulse the Spider-Bots admit is only visible when you’re nearby. Hence, swinging/gliding around will be required to find all 42 Spider-Bots.

Lastly, play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with headphones if possible. The pulse is a visual indicator but you can also hear the pulses going off. If it’s not immediately on your screen, you can hear it within the area.

If you’re still having trouble finding the Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you may find this Suit Tech upgrade to be handy. All the way down in the Traversal Tree, the upgrade called “All Seeing” will reveal tech crates on your mini-map.

However, the upgrade will also show Spider-Bots in the area. While it won’t reveal them on the menu’s map, if you’re swinging around the borough to find a Spider-Bot, the mini map will indicate a Spider-Bot is nearby.

The upgrade is not required to find all 42 Spider-Bots as many players have found them without it. If you want to find them yourself but have an easier time searching, the “All Seeing” upgrade should suffice.

It is pretty far into the Traversal Tree, so it’s not something you can receive early in your playthrough. If you can’t afford the upgrade or don’t want to bother finding it, here’s the location for all 42 Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

All 4 Spider-Bots in Downtown Brooklyn

We’re starting our Spider-Bot collecting journey in Downtown Brooklyn and looping back around Williamsburg at the end. I recommend playing as Miles since Ganke will be the one relaying information to you.

The first Spider-Bot up for grabs is Peni Parker, known for her appearance in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. You’ll find it on the northeast side of Downtown Brooklyn. Not all the way in the top right corner but close enough.

The next Spider-Bot will be towards Coney Island, under the railroad tracks. Head immediately south of Downtown Brooklyn and you’ll find the Superior Spider-Bot under the tracks. The storyline for Superior Spider-Man is about Otto Octavious’ subconscious swaps with Peter, making Otto this version of Spider-Man.

The third Spider-Bot in Downtown Brooklyn is close by, so don’t swing too far away. Go west and you’ll find an apartment complex right outside Coney Island. When you identify the pulse, the Spider-Bot to be collected is Mysterio, rocking a modern design similar to his appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: Far From Home

The final Spider-Bot to find in Downtown Brooklyn will be more west once again. Go to the furthest highway in that direction, right before the beach meets the roadway. Under the highway, you’ll find the Sensational Spider-Man Spider-Bot.

All 2 Spider-Bots in the Financial District

After web gliding across the river from Downtown Brooklyn, you will now be in the Financial District. The first Spider-Bot we’re grabbing is Classic Mysterio because he’s floating in the air as opposed to sitting on the side of a building.

In order to collect this Spider-Bot, you’ll need to go in the middle of the Financial District. You’ll likely see the pulses in the air if you’re high enough. To retrieve this Spider-Bot, make sure you have enough height to make it with your web wings.

Otherwise, find a nearby building and perform the slingshot launch by pressing L2 + X to shoot yourself into the air. Spider-Man should collect the bot when he’s close enough but be ready to hit the triangle button if he doesn’t.

The second Spider-Bot is closer to the river, so travel back east towards the water. It’s close to the Super Slingshot by the bridge. If you find that, head northwest to an office building with fire escape stairs facing you. The Spider-Bot will be on the right of the stairs which is Spider-Ham. Another character popular for their appearance in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

All 3 Spider-Bots in Chinatown

To the right borough of the Financial District is Chinatown. Starting by the bridge, this first Spider-Bot is going to be floating above a building. You might be able to see the colorful hexagon from your position.

Once you’re on the building below the Spider-Bot, use the water tower to web zip towards it. Press L2 + R2 once the reticle is on the water tower and press X before landing to launch yourself into the air. Hit triangle before you land to claim the Mister Negative Spider-Bot.

The next Spider-Bot will be northwest of your current position. In the middle of Chinatown, find the N.Y. Financial building. It’s white with a radio tower on top. This Spider-Bot will be sitting on the side of the building towards the sidestreet. The Spider-Woman Spider-Bot will be found here. Reminiscent of her classic design as opposed to her appearance in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

The third and final Spider-Bot in Chinatown is all the way on the west side of Chinatown towards the border. Find the brown building with artwork of a green woman. The Spider-Armor MK II Spider-Bot will be here for you to collect. This was a suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) but it sadly did not return for the sequel.

All 3 Spider-Bots in Greenwich

For Greenwich, you will have the first Spider-Bot already collected. In a story mission called “Spider-Spy?”, you will find the Spider-Man 2099 Spider-Bot which initiates the side quest for Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

The next Spider-Bot to collect is on the edge of Greenwich. By the water and under the Modern Art building, you’ll see the rainbow pulses emitting. Sitting under the outside ceiling, the Flipside Spider-Bot will be there. He’s a character from Spider-Man 2099’s comics who’s an android that copied the powers and data of Spider-Man and Venom.

The last Spider-Bot in Greenwich will be east from your current position. Look for the J.Jonah Jameson artwork of him as a baby. Across from the building is a balcony with trees and shrubs. On the mural is a Spider-Bot of triple-J’s himself. Spider-Man’s #1 hater has his own Spider-Bot.

All 4 Spider-Bots in Hell’s Kitchen

Going northwest of the map, we’re going to tackle Hell’s Kitchen. Despite its small area, there’s four Spider-Bots to find with the first one being very close to its bottom border. On the side of a small church building, the Spirit Spider Spider-Bot will be found. This was also a suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) but does not return here.

The second Spider-Bot in Hell’s Kitchen is located on the very edge of town near the water. In the middle, you’ll see three silver cylinders that can launch you straight up with the web wings. On the very first cylinder on the left, the Rhino Spider-Bot will be there. Harkening back to the introduction set piece in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales where Rhino faced off against both Spider-Men at Roxxon.

The next Spider-Bot in Hell’s Kitchen is located on the top right edge of the borough. The center of the building has two upside down L’s with a smaller line connecting them in the middle. Once you climb the building, find the rainbow pulse to collect the Future Foundation Spider-Bot. A free suit given to players in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) update 1.14 that does not return for the sequel.

The fourth and final Spider-Bot in Hell’s Kitchen will require some height to obtain it. North of the arena building on the east side of Hell’s Kitchen, you will see a horizontal building. When you’re on top of it, you should see the colorful hexagon north of your position.

Charge the slingshot launch by pressing L2 + X and lung yourself before pressing triangle to activate the web wings. When you’re close enough, you’ll collect the Vulture Spider-Bot with a similar design to his appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018). Fitting for this Spider-Bot to be airborne.

All 3 Spider-Bots in Midtown

East of Hell’s Kitchen is Midtown. The Spider-Bot we’re collecting is in the center. A little more towards the south side, you’ll see a building that looks like the Empire State Building. Near the top on the side, you’ll find the Spider-Monkey Spider-Bot. He’s even holding a banana with his tail.

After this Spider-Bot, jump off the building and fly towards the southeast direction. You should see the next Spider-Bot signal as you descend. It’s next to the building with a radio tower. Spider-UK Spider-Bot will be found here with his United Kingdom iconography and colors.

The last Spider-Bot for Midtown is northeast of the borough but not in the very corner. Near the top of an office building with solar panels on the roof, the Spider-Punk Spider-Bot will be here to collect. Similar to the Spider-Punk suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with its mohawk spikes and tiny pins.

All 3 Spider-Bot in the Upper East Side

Moving straight up into the next district is the Upper East Side. In the middle of the borough on the west side, you’ll find the Avenger’s Tower. In front of the tower, are a few buildings with one of them emitting the colorful Spider-Bot pulse. The one to find here is Spider-Man Noir, another popular character from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse who also has an accompanying suit for Peter.

The second Spider-Bot will be found northeast of your current position. In the group of buildings above the park, find a not-so-tall building with a blank torn up billboard. The Spider-Bot to collect here is Spider-Armor MK III. Similarly to Spider-Armor MK II, it was in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) but left out of the sequel.

The third and final Spider-Bot to find in the Upper East Side is on the west side border. More towards the south, look for a building that’s all windows with a pool on the balcony. When you land on the balcony, you should be close enough to collect the Aracnido Jr. Spider-Bot. A version of Spider-Man who’s a Mexican wrestler. We have now collected more than half of the Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

All 2 Spider-Bots in Central Park

Continue moving west to get into Central Park. One of the Spider-Bots is hidden under the bridge on the northwest side of the map. Follow the cars until you find the bridge. This Spider-Bot is of the Iron Spider, a popular suit among the Spider-Man community. Returning from Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) with even better usage of the Spider Arms.

The last Spider-Bot in Central Park is on top of some rocks in the middle of the area. A lake is nearby with no trees surrounding the rocks. Collect the Spider-Bot to find Spider-Man 1602. Part of Marvel 1602, it’s a What If… story featuring Marvel heroes during that time period including Peter Parquagh. Shakespeare in the park anyone?

All 3 Spider-Bots in the Upper West Side

The Upper West Side has a Spider-Bot hidden on the southwest side of the map. Find a tall building with all windows by the water to see the rainbow Spider-Bot pulse. Crawl on the left side of the building closest to the water to find the Spider-Girl Spider-Bot. She’s the daughter of Peter and MJ who’s real name is Mayday Parker.

The next Spider-Bot will be north of the Upper West Side. Open the map to see two upside down L buildings connected by another building at the bottom. Go to the lower right corner of this area to find the Secret Wars Spider-Bot. Another suit that appeared in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) and was cut here.

The final Spider-Bot in the Upper West Side is southeast of the area. You’ll see a building that looks like a right triangle on the bottom right of the map. Look around the buildings above the right triangle to locate the pulsing Spider-Bot. Here, you’ll find the Dusk Spider-Bot which references an obscure Spider-Man character Peter meets when he travels to the Negative Zone.

All 3 Spider-Bots in Harlem

There are three Spider-Bots to find in Miles’ home of Harlem. Starting off in the very bottom left corner, find this building surrounded by trees with columns on each side. On the very left side, you will find a pulsing Spider-Bot called Ultimate Spider-Bot. A nod to Miles Morales’ first comic book run called Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man

After collecting this Spider-Bot, open your map to see two buildings that look like brackets with nothing in the middle. Mark the very right building to find artwork of a black woman on the side of a building.

Surrounded by books and geometric shapes, the Anya Corazon Spider-Bot will be sitting on the mural. She’s another Spider-Woman and this bot features a more classic design as Araña as opposed to her more modern design as Spider-Girl.

The final Spider-Bot in Harlem is far west. Travel about where Central Park’s border ends before the Upper East Side. On a brown building with many air conditioning units sticking out, you will find the Spider-Bot pulsing on the side. Collecting it will unlock the Across the Spider-Verse Spider-Bot, very similar to Miles’ suit in the movie.

All 4 Spider-Bots in Astoria

Astoria is a massive area because of the small island sitting on the west side. There is one Spider-Bot on that island while the other three are on the mainland. The one hidden on the island is toward the bottom. It sits on top of the building next to the bridge. The Spider-Bot here is the Classic Spider-Bot, the main design almost everyone thinks of when Spider-Man comes to mind.

Take the wind tunnel to get to Astoria’s mainland towards the factory buildings. Once they’re on your right, exit the wind tunnel to find the second Spider-Bot on one of the buildings.

The Blood-Spider is a character in the comics who was trained by Taskmaster to kill Spider-Man. In a Marvel’s Spider-Man tie-in book, Hostile Takeover, Blood-Spider does make an appearance to distract Peter away from Wilson Fisk.

The next Spider-Bot in Astoria is southeast of the map. Follow the bridge to help you find the building. The third Spider-Bot is located on a brown building that looks like a boarding school. Climb the highest structure to find the Mangaverse Spider-Bot. Another suit previously in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) that’s absent from its sequel.

The final Spider-Bot in Astoria is one that’s floating in the air. Make your way west to the park next to the bridge. Above the park is our fourth Spider-Bot. Pick a tall building nearby and slingshot launch with L2 + X. As soon as you’re close enough, Spider-Man will collect the Shocker Spider-Bot. Another sinister six member turned into a Spider-Bot.

All 3 Spider-Bots in Downtown Queens

Moving our way south, we’re now in Downtown Queens. The first Spider-Bot is alongside these residential houses that go from Astoria to Downtown Queens. One of the last houses along this strip with a patio set and gardens growing has a Spider-Bot on the house. Collecting it will reveal the Stealth Spider-Bot. The green and black color scheme makes it stand out from the other Spider-Man suits.

The second Spider-Bot is located south of Downtown Queens, right before the bridge meets the water. A building next to the highway will have a Spider-Bot pulsing away. Sitting on the side of the building next to some fans, you’ll find the Gwen Stacy Spider-Bot. Peter Parker’s first love interest may not be in the Insomniac Universe but at least we have this Spider-Bot to pay homage to her.

The last Spider-Bot in Downtown Queens is located at the very northwest corner. Past the bridge, you will find a dirt baseball field near the water. Next to home plate will be the Into the Spider-Verse Spider-Bot.

All 3 Spider-Bots in Little Odessa

After crossing the water, head east of Little Odessa. Near the water, you’ll find two dark gray cylinders housing the first Spider-Bot. The cylinder near the yellow construction crane will have the Scarlet Spider Spider-Bot. Scarlet Spider also known as Ben Reilly is a clone of Peter Parker who was infamously used during the 1994 Clone Saga. He most recently appeared in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

From here, we’re going to travel south alongside the buildings and the trees. About half way through, you’ll see a building under construction pulsing rainbow colors. Get on the platform or crawl along the wall to retrieve the Electro-Proof Spider-Man Spider-Bot. This suit was used to fight against Electro in the comics.

The third and final Spider-Bot in Little Odessa is by the water on the west side of the map. Find the building with clear windows on every side. On the top, there’s two wood patio covers and a pool in the middle. One of the patio covers has the final Spider-Bot which is Black Cat Noir. The Spider-Man Noir version of Black Cat has nightclub owner Felecia Hardy sporting an almost all white look.

All 2 Spider-Bots in Williamsburg

We’ve now come full circle of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s New York City and end up in Williamsburg, south of Little Odessa. The first Spider-Bot can be found on a building with a radio tower. It’s next to this small park with trees surrounding a church building in the middle. The Prowler Spider-Bot will be collected here, sporting the purple and green aesthetic.

Spider-Bots in Marvel's Spider-Man 2

The final Spider-Bot to find is south of Williamsburg and up in the sky. You might see the Spider-Men mural on a building and it’s directly southwest from that building. Get on a tall building and slingshot launch once more with L2 + X. When you’re close enough, you will collect the Scorpion Spider-Bot, completing the Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

What’s Unlocked For All Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

Once you have all 42 Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, a new mission unlocks called “The Message” with a purple spider icon appearing on your map. If you finish in Williamsburg, it’ll be about 2,000 meters from you.

When you go to the marker in Chinatown, a portal starts to open up similarly to the Spider-Verse movies. Soon, you’ll be greeted by a cut character from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse named Delilah.

Spider-Bots in Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Delilah greets you after collecting all the Spider-Bots in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

According to the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s art book, “Delilah is described as the tough-as-nails villain who is the bartender and proprietor at the Bar With No Name.” In the film, Delilah was going to take pity on her new regular, The Spot, as he’s getting bullied by others in his life.

Because Delilah was cut from the final film, the cameo/easter egg might be a little confusing for players. Even if you watched Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, there’s no signs of Delilah in the movie, making this final reward kind of confusing.

Insomniac Games were likely too far into development to change the reward players receive for the Spider-Bots side quest. Regardless, a cool way to tie-in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

spider-bots-in-marvel's-spider-man-2
Despite being cut from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Delilah remains a cameo in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Once the cutscene finishes, you receive 1,000 XP, 400 Tech Parts, and the Bronze Trophy called “Funky Wireless Protocols”.
