Fans Call Loki’s Sacrifice Bigger Than Iron Man’s

The last episode of Loki Season 2 is named Glorious Purpose, which is an homage to an iconic line from the first Avengers film that Loki once dismissed. During the episode, Loki understands the real responsibility of a glorious purpose, which eventually leads him to sacrifice his life and take responsibility for maintaining the entire multiverse.

It serves as one of the most satisfying conclusions to one of the most beloved MCU characters. Fans are even rating his sacrifice higher than Iron Man’s death in Avengers: Endgame.

After spending hundreds of years learning everything and using O.B. and Victor Timely’s Throughput Multiplier to fix the Temporal Loom, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) realizes that the issue will persist unless He Who Remains and the TVA remains the same. Despite this, he breaks the loop, destroying the Temporal Loom. Using his powers, Loki manages to save all the branched timelines, turning himself into a new god and a living Temporal Loom for the entire multiverse.

Will The TVA Return to the MCU?

After Loki’s sacrifice, the TVA’s focus has shifted to tracking down variants of He Who Remains. This will also include the exiled Kang who appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as mentioned by Mobius in the Season 2 finale. Moreover, Mobius has verified that the main MCU reality and timeline is officially called Earth-616.

It seems like the TVA and their new situation could have a part to play in future MCU projects. With the Multiverse Saga extending its reach to Phase 6 and eventually leading to Avengers: Secret Wars, the expected collapse of the entire multiverse hints the TVA will continue to be a part of the narrative. Besides, there have been reports that Owen Wilson will reprise his role as Agent Mobius in Deadpool 3 along with the TVA.
