The theory dates back to 2021 when the world was greeted with Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson’s iconic duo in Loki. The mind-blowing theory can easily connect Robert Downey Jr.’s appearance as Doctor Doom and fans are simply in awe.

How Loki Season 1 Can Bring Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom

During Season 1, a scene was shown when Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston talk about some deaths that were out of time. The genius of this scene is that even though it felt like a story within the MCU (like any other), it was allegedly about Doctor Doom!

Wilson’s Mobius tells Loki about a story regarding a certain variant and a mission to hunt him down. The story starts with some hunters going out on a mission “somewhere near the black sea”.

The hunters find a variant that will be responsible for 5000 deaths that were out of time. However, when they hunt down the variant, it turns out that he was an 8-year-old boy. Now here’s the fun part.

Remember the location that Mobius stated? Well, in Marvel Comics, there is a fictional country called Latveria and Doctor Doom is the monarch of that country. The surprising thing is that Latveria is situated next to Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and, Croatia.

One doesn’t need to look far to see that the Black Sea (in our world) is next to Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, and, Turkey! This was an obvious reference to Doctor Doom and the future that the MCU will be heading towards. Check out the scene here.

This is how Marvel Studios can include Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in the MCU in the future. The world is sure that Robert Downey Jr. can indeed pull it off even if Kevin Feige were to prank him. However, there was one role that Downey Jr. himself revealed that he wasn’t prepared for.

When Robert Downey Jr. Had A Tough Role To Play

It was 2023 when Downey Jr. starred in the role of General Lewis Strauss in Christopher Nolan’s magnum opus, Oppenheimer. Portraying the iconic role, the Sherlock Holmes actor received an Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance.

However, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for the actor since Downey Jr. had to learn something very difficult. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the actor revealed that he had to learn how to be not charming!

He’s asking me to kind of transform into someone who’s extremely subtle and plotting, who doesn’t have any punchlines, who’s only charming when he’s trying to manipulate or undermine

The rest, as we know, is history since Downey Jr. gave a phenomenal performance as Lewis Strauss and won a well-deserved Oscar for it. On the other hand, the world cannot keep calm for his role as Doctor Doom in the MCU.

With 2 seasons to its name, Loki received a rating of 8.2/10 on IMDB and a whopping 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The iconic show is available to stream on Disney+ while Oppenheimer is available to stream on Prime Video in the U.S.
