It seems that fans will be getting an answer to Majors’ fate on the franchise after the end of Loki Season 2, and a new scoop also reveals that his name will reportedly be eliminated in several promotional materials from Disney+.

Jonathan Majors’ Future In The MCU Will Reportedly Be Revealed After Loki Season 2

The report came from Alex Perez of pop-culture media outlet Cosmic Circus, where he revealed via Twitter:

It appears there’s an order on promotional material/articles from Disney regarding the arrival of #Quantumania on Disney+. Under no circumstance is any article allowed to mention Jonathan Majors or his involvement in the film as Kang.”

He also added that Disney suggested using a specific phrase to refer to the character:

In addition, new Disney articles that are meant to promote the film reference Majors and his role as Kang the Conqueror as the following: ‘the new threat that frightens everyone’ as opposed to mentioning the actor and even the character by name.”

A user questioned this report and claimed that Marvel Studios used Jonathan Majors’ name on their official website to promote Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on Disney+. The insider clarified that only Disney sites are mandated to follow the rule:

Marvel may continue to credit him for his appearance in the film, but Disney sites and articles at this time do not mention or bring him up in any shape or form.”

Another user speculated that this action might suggest Marvel Studios’ subtle way of announcing that Majors may have been replaced or Kang’s story may have been removed from the franchise. Perez hinted that all curiosities will be satisfied at the end of Loki Season 2.

Marvel is far too deep into the Multiverse lore to back out with Kang now. The Multiverse Saga will continue. As for Majors… everyone will have the answer they’re waiting for by the end of Loki S2.”

Jonathan Majors is set to portray another variant of Kang the Conqueror in the second installment of Disney+’s Loki. He will suit up as Victor Timely, an inventor from the early 20th century.

Loki Season 2 will arrive a little later than what fans expected, and this might be due to the hullabaloos surrounding Majors’ case. Nonetheless, the sequel’s cast will include Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Jonathan Majors as Kang, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Eugene Cordero as Casey AKA Hunter K-5E, and Sophia DiMartino as Sylvie.

As seen in the post-credits of Ant-Man: Quantumania, Loki seems terrified at seeing the same man he met at the Citadel. Mobius, on the other hand, does not seem to grasp the magnitude of the threat.

Loki Season 2 will arrive on Disney+ this October 6, 2023.
