Renowned for acing his portrayal as Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix Fantasy series The Witcher, Henry Cavill proved his potential to play any fantasy character. Impressed by his role as Geralt, fans expressed their desire to see the actor in HB0’s epic House of Dragons.

Ever since the prequel of Games of Thrones arrived, fans started drawing a connection between the Targaryens and Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia. And many rumors were swirling which suggested that Cavill would suit best playing the role of Aegon Targaryen. Nevertheless, all these rumors came to a halt when Cavill himself opened up about his debut in the House of Dragon series.

After running for eight long seasons, HBO’s epic series Game of Thrones came to an end. A few years later HBO released the prequel of the epic fantasy series, House of Dragons. The first season of the series was well acclaimed by the audience, and the second season is under development according to the makers of the series.

Though any new update on the star cast of the next season has not been revealed yet, some fans suspected that Henry Cavill may make his debut in House of Dragons. Not just this, some enthusiastic fans have also formulated theories suggesting the ideal role that Cavill could portray in House of Dragons

But to fans’ dismay, the actor revealed that he won’t be making up to the House of Dragons series. During a live on-stage interview with Josh Horowitz of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Cavil was asked to shed some light on the rumors regarding his debut in the Game of Thornes universe. To which Cavill responded by clarifying he has always been a fan of the series yet he isn’t involved in it by any means. The actor said,

“I enjoy that enormously. I think the writing is fantastic. I think it’s a really good show. I mean to be fair, when I was watching House of the Dragon, I was like ‘I feel like a lot of these guys would make really good Witchers… [laughs] Those wigs are good…'”

So to clarify all the rumors and break all hopes, Cavill declared, 

“I think it would be cool to be in Westeros. I really do. I don’t think there is a place for me in there though.” 

One of the reasons why Cavill won’t be joining the series is his busy schedule. The actor is all set to star in the upcoming real-life-story-based action-spy film called The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Having achieved a record-breaking premiere on August 21, 2022, the first season of “House of Dragon” surpassed fans’ expectations and delivered an explosive impact. Now, fans desperately await the arrival of its second season, eagerly anticipating another round of captivating episodes.

According to the sources, the season will have eight episodes featuring Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, and Emma D’ Arcy in the lead roles. However, nothing much has been announced about the upcoming season, yet fans can expect the arrival of the show by 2024.
