Furthermore, it was because of him that the art of bodybuilding came to the forefront and got popularized in popular culture. Till now he remains one of the most iconic figures in the history of bodybuilding.

“When I was in bodybuilding I sometimes lost bodybuilding competitions because I had no tan. And then I go to America and all these body bodybuilders had a really great tan. So you know it’s very important to look really good on the stage and have more muscle separation and definition. So, you were born with the tan, lucky you!”

And so to get a natural tan, the actor previously revealed how he would train outside to get the best even tan.

Since the former bodybuilder didn’t have a natural tan, Schwarzenegger found a clever way to get an even tan naturally. He revealed that since just lying in the sun did not produce a more definite and even tan, he would go outdoors and train there, as he had stated to Bodybuilding.com back in 2012.

“Sometimes when [people] lie in the sun, they look like they got tanned in the front and tanned in the back, but they’re not tanned around down beneath the arms and everywhere.”

Even though Muscle Beach was a lot smaller than his Gold Gym, Schwarzenegger’s old training ground, he would go there every day to work out in the sun.

“It was a little smaller in the days when I worked out. but the advantage was that when you did your chin-ups, your presses, your curls, you got the tan everywhere. Then we would run over to the ocean, jump in the waves, get the salt water all over, and again, get tan all around.”

And that is how he ended up with a body that continues to make his contemporaries and juniors jealous yet inspired at the same time.
