The foundation of the success of every anime is its legendary voice-acting cast, and such is the case with Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, which has featured the perfect cast for its characters that showcases the very essence of the characters, making them sound just right.
However, fans of the Shonen series often wonder what would happen if the stellar cast swapped their respective roles and voiced them. To the community’s delight, Mayumi Tanaka and Kazuya Nakai, the voice actors of Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro, did it.
Despite both characters having a very distinguished voice, the experiment was a massive success because the outcome was wholesome content that would surely put a big smile on your face.
One Piece Voice Actors Know How to Give Their Fans a Wholesome Moment
One of the chief reasons behind the massive success of Monkey D. Luffy is his unsolicited love for his crewmates. Without the love and trust of his crewmates, the young pirate would not have gone too far in the Grand Line, making his aim of becoming the Pirate King look like nothing but a pipe dream.
The Straw Hat is close to all of his crewmates, making them family by choice. However, his bond with The Pirate Hunter is a little too special. The swordsman is the first crew member of Luffy’s crew, and that marked the beginning of something special.
Zoro is often perceived as the Vice-Captain of his Straw Hat Pirates because of his unwavering loyalty and respect and the sheer dedication with which he follows the orders of his captain. But it was the moment when he took Luffy’s pain to showcase how ardently he was ready to risk his life for his captain.
In a video shared by a fan page (@_omin0us_) on Instagram, Mayumi Tanaka and Kazuya Nakai, the respective voice actors of both characters, were shown voicing the first meeting of Zoro and Luffy in Wano.
To the fans’ surprise, Tanaka-San and Nakai-San swapped their roles, and interestingly enough, the result was a wholesome moment that was enough to brighten up your day.
Despite the contrasting voices of both characters, it felt quite natural to hear and fans could not get enough of it as they watched the video on repeat on social media. Consequently, the One Piece community can’t help but drop positive thoughts in the comment section of the post.
One Piece Fans Loved The New Voices of Luffy and Zoro
Not only the fans but also both voice actors were having the time of their lives as they played their roles in a new avatar. The original scene was already special as it showcased the unbreakable bond that the two had built during the grand adventure.
