Kevin Feige is the man who made Marvel Studios what it is today. He is a film producer and also the president of Marvel Studios since 2007. From MCU’s first movie Iron Man which was released back in 2008, to the latest Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, he has been the one running the show.
Even before that, when the first X-Men movie was released back in 2000, Kevin Feige played a role in it as the associate producer. He was the assistant of executive producer Lauren Shuler Donner.
Marvel Studios Head – Kevin Feige
The X-Men was the first time he worked as an associate producer, which starred big actors like Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. His work on the movie impressed the Marvel Studios head – Avi Arad, who was the president at that time. He was hired by Arad at that time and was promoted to be his second-in-command. Since then, Feige has helped in multiple X-Men movies as he was the co-producer of X2: X-Men United and also the executive producer for X-Men: The Last Stand.
Later in 2007, he became Marvel Studios’ President, after Arad resigned from multiple presidentship roles in Marvel Studios. After the Disney takeover, Kevin Feige was given complete control over Marvel Studios, and became the commander in chief of the company.
The X-Men scriptwriter David Hayter says that even though Kevin Feige has become one of the big-shot producers of Hollywood, he still remains as pure and humble at heart as he was during the X-Men movies.
“He was very enthusiastic and obviously hyper-intelligent, but what really impressed me about him was how well he knew not just the X-Men, but the Marvel characters.”
“Kevin was a big collector of the action figures and the toys. He was really into collecting those things. And through that love, he had learned the mythologies of all of these characters, so he was a very smart, very informed resource.”
One more reason why Feige excelled in this division was because he was a huge collector of action figures and was into mythology, which at that period of time was a weird thing expected from a producer. He also had an intense knowledge of Stan Lee’s work which helped him on his journey.
