While the fans were both furious and excited to see Lady Gaga be the new Harley Quinn in the DCU. James Gunn, the Co-CEO of the DC Studios who has rebooted the entire franchise has broken his silence if fans would see Margot Robbie again in her iconic DC role in the future.

James Gunn Answers Margot Robbie’s Future in The DCU

A couple of months back James Gunn confirmed that The Flash will completely reset the DCU, which will pave way for Gunn’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters. And he himself confirmed that the movie will “reset many things, not all things. Some characters remain the same some do not.”

As a result, fans saw the exit of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill from their respective roles of Batman and Superman. While the future of the Barbie actress was unsure at the new DCU, a fan asked Gunn, if he would like to work with the actress again. To which the Peacemaker creator answered “for sure,” which indicated to the fans that Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn in the rebooted franchise.

Recently, a trustworthy scooper stated, that a prequel series revolving around Harley Quinn will be made and the title will be Harleen. The scoop claimed that plot will show how the need to save the Joker led to her mind being shattered. And fans ardently believed that Margot Robbie will be featured in her iconic role. But James Gunn stated that the scoop is untrue, and “there is not” any series featuring her return. But he did say, “yes” when asked about the return of the character in his rebooted DCU.

Is Margot Robbie Likely to Return to DCU?

Margot Robbie’s portrayal as Harley Quinn in DCEU movies like The Suicide Squad, and Birds of Prey was outstanding and her performance helped DCEU to gain some fans and made the character more popular. Therefore, her return to the franchise would help James Gunn to bring some quality to his DCU.

Moreover, it is quite likely that the actress is in talks with the DC executives for her potential return to the franchise as Harley Quinn possibly for Waller or Peacemaker season 2. Another possible probability would be that the actress returns to the big screen in The Brave and The Bold, where she would be an ally or an enemy or both to the Bat Family. While there are no hints or announcements for Margot Robbie’s return, fans should wait for a potential announcement of the actress’ return as the character.
