Margot Robbie Put Herself Through Insane Amounts of Gymnastics, Underwater & Aerial Silk Training for DC Movie, Was Still Paid Less Than Jared Leto’s $7M Salary

However, despite putting in all this effort, she could only make a fraction of her co-star Jared Leto’s salary.

Margot Robbie Put Her Body Through A Lot For The Role

Her training regimen included various activities to enhance her physicality and agility. Robbie delved into the world of gymnastics, honing her flexibility, balance, and control to perform the acrobatic stunts required for the role. Additionally, she immersed herself in boxing training, mastering the techniques and movements to embody the fierce combat skills of her character.

To embody Harley Quinn’s skill with weapons, Robbie underwent specialized weapons training. This involved learning the intricacies of handling various props, such as bats and knives, with precision and authenticity. In order to execute the breathtaking aerial silk sequences, Robbie dedicated herself to training in aerial silk techniques. The training aimed to make her actions on screen both believable and impactful.

Margot Robbie Became A Victim Of Pay Disparity

The critical and fan reception of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad was a mixed bag, with a range of opinions on various aspects of the film. While the overall narration and direction faced significant criticism, standout performances from the cast garnered praise, particularly for Margot Robbie and Will Smith.

Jared Leto’s portrayal of the Joker in Suicide Squad evoked a mixed response from audiences and critics alike. The criticism primarily centered around two aspects: his limited screen time and the interpretation of the character. 

But the salary distribution for Suicide Squad brings an intriguing aspect. Jared Leto’s compensation for his mere 7 minutes of screentime was a substantial $7 million. In contrast, Margot Robbie, who held a prominent role and had significantly more screen time, also earned a substantial sum, although the exact figure remains undisclosed. Nonetheless, it is clear that Robbie’s earnings did not reach the same level as Leto’s compensation for his brief appearance.
