Mark Wahlberg is an actor who has always remained fit throughout the course of his career. Starring in multiple action films such as the Transformers series, The Italian Job, Three Kings, and Uncharted has its perks as he has to keep his physique ready for high-octane action sequences and stunts.

Early last year, Wahlberg revealed that his workout routine included him waking up at 2:30 AM every day to get in his physical activity before he starts his day as an actor and producer. Wahlberg mentioned that he would go to bed at 7:30 PM and then wake up early to start his routine. He said to Fox News,

“Tomorrow I’m getting up at 2:30, in the gym at 3:30, finish about 5:30, and go to work at 7:30. [I] make time for a lot of prayer in between…Then I’m finishing work. I probably won’t eat a meal until – last meal today [was] 6, so tomorrow probably noontime.”

However, Wahlberg has since updated his routine and has reportedly slowed down his day. He mentioned to E! News that he had been getting up an hour later lately and that he sometimes sleeps in. He said,

“As long as I get my eight hours, I can do my thing…We’ll have dinner get the kids all situated—well, they go to bed when they want—and then we’ll start watching T.V. and I’ll usually fall asleep in the middle of something. I don’t want to feel like I am not disciplined enough but I might stay in bed a little longer. But I have my Wednesdays and Saturdays off.”

The Pain and Gain star has multiple films in the pipeline, including the Mel Gibson-directed action film Flight Risk.

Mark Wahlberg’s Kids Are More Disciplined Than Him

While the 3:30 AM workout routine takes an insane level of dedication, Mark Wahlberg mentioned that his kids are far more disciplined than he is as they have begun at a young age. Wahlberg has four children with his wife Rhea Durham and he says that his children are into physically demanding sports and skills.

His elder son Michael is reportedly interested in MMA and Jujitsu, while his youngest daughter Grace is an equestrian. Talking about the discipline his daughter exhibits, Wahlberg said,

“My daughter—believe it or not—is more disciplined than me. I didn’t adopt that kind of discipline until I was in my 30s and I had to do it because of work. And now she does it on her own because she wants to be an Olympian.”

The Daddy’s Home star also mentioned that his younger son Brendan is interested in acting and that the child said that he would be a bigger actor than Wahlberg was.
