If there’s anything we have learned is the fact that it’s not always rainbows and butterflies on the sets of our favorite movies. Bringing a film to fruition is not an easy task and sometimes, horns tend to lock with others. Something similar happened on the sets of Michael Bay’s Transformers: Age of Extinction with one of Mark Wahlberg’s co-stars.

Transformers: Age of Extinction saw stand-up comedian T.J. Miller play the role of Lucas Flannery alongside Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager. However, things weren’t too pleasant between Michael Bay and T.J. Miller. The actor/comedian recalled an argument the two had about T.J. Miller not being funny enough. He added that as soon as the cameras turned off, Michael Way would go back to normal. T.J. Miller called this a bipolar experience.

In an episode of Doug Loves Movies, Mark Wahlberg’s co-star T.J. Miller talked about working with Michael Bay on the $1.1 billion Transformers: Age of Extinction and stated that it was a “bipolar experience.” Why? Well, while things might be pretty heated at a moment, they would immediately cool down the next as if nothing ever happened.

Miller recalled a scene where Bay berated him for not being funny enough and threatened to even cut him off from the film if he doesn’t make anyone laugh anytime soon. To this, Miller replied stating that that would be ideal as he wouldn’t have to continue. Bay even told Miller that he hasn’t been able to make the Make-a-Wish children laugh either. The Marvel actor who played Weasel in Deadpool stated,

“Ya know, he has a specific way of communicating with people. Once he said to me, ‘Nothing that you’ve said is funny T.J.! Not one thing all day! We hired you to be funny! There’s 300 people here! None of them are laughing at you! Say something funny! I can still cut you out of the movie!’ And I said, “Michael, I would love that because then I would be able to leave right this instant! “And he said, ‘Say something funny! You haven’t even made the Make-a-Wish kids laugh!’”

He then stated that as soon as the cameras were shut, though, Bay would go back to normal and invite Miller for sushi and drinks. Thanks to the ever-changing mood of Bay, Miller called his experience on the sets of Age of Extinction bipolar.

Well, we have established that Bay has his own way of making things work, and not always are people going to agree with it. Transformers actress, Megan Fox, is one of them. Bay and Fox’s relationship on the sets turned so bitter that the latter was removed from the franchise.

In an interview with Wonderland Magazine, Fox recalled what it was like working with Bay. While she stated that Bay was endearing when he was not working, she did add that he was a nightmare to collaborate with. Looks like Miller and Fox have the same opinion! Not only did he call him a nightmare, she even compared him to the dictator, Adolf Hitler.

“He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous, mad man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality…It’s endearing to watch him. He’s vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he’s a tyrant.”

Those are some harsh words! Bay also responded to Fox’s opinion on him in an interview with GQ. He stated that he wasn’t hurt by her words because that’s just who she was. Bay added, “Megan loves to get a response.” He then sarcastically apologized to the actress and then stated that movies can’t always be “warm and fuzzy.”

Fox later apologized publically stating that she was young and that she never should have blasted him in front of everyone. The two later made up and collaborated on two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films.
