Just as the curtains on Daniel Craig’s James Bond franchise were drawn, he has carried on the mantle of carrying a new line – Knives Out. The whodunit flicks have garnered the interest of fans, enthralling one and all with its quirky characters, and gripping storyline. Daniel Craig’s performance is just the icing on the top. And for his third rodeo in the Knives Out world, he will have new actors beside him to bear the burden.
The hype for Knives Out 3 is already in place
Just two years after the release of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the return of premiere detective Benoit Blanc has been confirmed. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, the third film titled, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, is also set to witness the return of Daniel Craig (no surprises there).
As of yet, not much is known about the film, except for the fact that it is expected to soon go into production and is slated to release in 2025. And while Johnson has, in his own words, prepared for our beloved detective his “most dangerous case yet”, what is more exciting is the list of names who will be joining him.
Kerry Washington joins the names of suspects in Knives Out 3
The Spectre star will be joined by many stars for Knives Out 3. Andrew Scott of Fleabag fame was one of the first ‘suspects’ whose name was announced. Alongside him, the Challengers breakout Josh O’Connor and Priscilla star Cailee Spaeny will be the other new additions to the cast. But the list doesn’t end there.

Another stalwart who is all set to join the cast is Kerry Washington, an actor who already comes with a proven pedigree. The Django Unchained star knows a thing or two about being part of a franchise, having previously been a part of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Her inclusion is all set to make a world of difference to the future of this project.
Knives Out 3 will prove whether Netflix was right or not
The cast of the upcoming movie inspires confidence in the hearts of fans who have fallen in love with the story and Director Rian Johnson’s style. The OG Knives Out was released all the way back in 2019 grossing $312 million on a budget of just $40 million. Quite the feat that was.
It prompted Netflix to buy the rights to the series for a whopping $450 million. And Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery was quite the hit, going to become the first Netflix movie to be played in the country’s three biggest chains – AMC Theaters, Regal Cinemas and Cinemark – generating an estimated $15 million during its week-long run. The success of the third movie might make all the difference.
