Marvel seems to be on a roll with the announcement of a new trailer for its upcoming game titled, ‘Marvel Rivals.’ It was also announced that the upcoming game will release its beta version in May 2024.
The official announcement of the trailer read,
“Assemble your favorite Marvel characters and engage in 6v6 battles, utilizing brand-new Team-Up Skills in destructible locations from across the Marvel Multiverse!”
The game is being developed collectively by NetEase and Marvel Games. It will be a free-to-play team-based shooter that is expected to launch first on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Marvel Rivals trailer launched
Apart from the trailer and the beta date, Marvel Games also revealed that Marvel Rivals will be a 6 v 6 PvP hero shooter. It is claimed to bring together the best of Marvel action games such as Ultimate Alliance along with the tactical multiplayer elements of Overwatch and Valorant.
Marvel Rivals will allow players to assemble Avengers, X-Men, Guardians, and an entire crew of heroes as well as baddies from across the Marvel multiverse. It was also revealed that at launch, the roster will have a total of 16 characters including Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Groot, Hulk, Iron Man, Loki, Luna Snow, Magik, Magneto, Mantis, Namor, Peni Parker, Rocket Raccoon, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Storm, Star-Lord and The Punisher.
Currently, the game is believed to be in development for PC, and it will feature multiple destructible environments that the players can use to modify the battlefield in their favor. Similarly, the characters will bring along special moves and ultimate attacks like any hero shooter.
What do fans think of the new Marvel Rivals trailer?
As soon as the trailer for the new Marvel Rivals game dropped, the fans were obviously over the moon. The excitement and anticipation of the fans were seen on social media as soon as the trailer was released.

W” Another user ‘syriangeekvibes’ expressed their excitement saying, “MY GOD THIS LOOKS DOPE!!!!!” along with a ‘Shut up and take my money’ gif, while a user RayyanTCG also shared a similar excitement saying, “gameplay looks sick tbh”

User ‘Brokowski25’ used the trailer as an opportunity to take a dig at Avengers saying, “At least this looks more fun than Avengers lmao.” A user named ‘thekillerwc1’ pointed out, “They seriously brought back Galactus daughter for this. They knew they where unleashing the horny with that.”
Several users also said they were hopeful about the announced game. Among them was ‘pierbiwierbi’ who said, “very hopeful about this 👀” Several other users also praised elements of the trailer such as the graphics, the combat, and most importantly the line-up of heroes promised in Marvel Rivals.
